Not enough talent to contend.  Too weak of a conference to tank.   Strap in for perpetual mediocrity.

Oh hell, we're probably top-3 in overall raw talent, but it just has not been properly cultivated due to p--- poor coaching all season long. A failure to appropriately define roles and address the chemistry concerns just tainted the entire season and threw all of that talent down the drain.

Blame that on Danny. Try and pick his brain and see why he allowed the roster to get to this point...

Stockpiling talent? I get that...but at what cost?

My gut tells me that Kyrie comes back next season..he won't quit on us. But this roster needs an overhaul.

Kyrie may walk, but if he does, it would be with his tail between his legs after the performances he's put up in this series.

Talent is not an issue for this team. It's the right fit, toughness and chemistry. Could have been a much better team with a healthy IT than Kyrie.

A healthy IT doesn't exist anymore. Move on already.

As for this team right now, this season was an all around failure if it ends on Wednesday. Not easing Gordon in to start was a mistake. The offensive philosophy of this team needed an update to accommodate the talent (less egalitarian offense and more of an established hierarchy), the choice by management to not make adjustments either via trade or via signing (Kanter could've been a great addition with his ability to rebound and get a couple of baskets in the paint when needed).
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

Watch us blow them out in game five only to come home and lay another bloody egg on home court.

Eh, the situation isn't that bleak and you know it.  We have young talent and a lot of options moving forward.  Far from a treadmill team.
He is almost always wrong, so rest assured, we will be fine.

That would be typical of this Celtics team.

I think you see both Kyrie and AD or neither. If we don't land AD for whatever reason, I think you see Kyrie walk and we go young, likely trading Horford and/or Hayward if the right deals present themselves.

That said, I could just as easily see us missing out on AD, Kyrie walking, and then just running back with this same basic team to see what it can give you, even signing Horford to a longer-term, lower-money deal given how good of a vet he is to have around.

Blame Brad Stevens because he wants guys who can shoot 3's than pack the paint and rebound.

As bad as this postseason has made Kyrie look already, if he leaves this summer after his terrible showing in the postseason - let alone his proclamation of resigning before the season AND making a freaking commercial about wanting his jersey in the rafters - he's going to look reallllll bad.

That said, if we can't get AD for a fair price, then I do hope he walks, along with Rozier. I don't think he can lead us to the promised land as the main guy, based on both his ultimate skill level and his lackluster leadership skills.

Irving for his own reputation he should ought to stay.

But if Davis doesn't come, idc anymore he can leave. Give me Bradley Beal and another point guard. One thing is certain- this team cannot move forward with Brad Stevens. They need a new blood.

BRAD MUST GO

LET'S GO CELTICS!

And if Kyrie walks it will be for Greener pastures....would've hoped that those pastures would've been in BOS.

It is disappointing seeing folks toss this great player under the bus...blame him for this team's woes.

Dude GREW as a leader...no he is not perfect but he got better....got better defensively....

Its not hard to grow as a leader when you start at 0.
