Guess I'll just never understand the "put the team out of its misery" mindset. 

Very tepid expectations for tonight but still want the W & more games to play.

I agree. I have never understood giving up on a game before ever being played. I want more Celtic games, not less. I want the win.

I think its one of either; caring more about being proven right on a point made about this team than it is about necessarily winning or being bothered by the fact that its not necessarily a team that makes you "warm & fuzzy".

I have to believe as I saw the Sox come back in '04 and the C's did it in '81.  I think if it goes the 7 somehow, the C's win.

Just to clarify my stance, I want nothing more than to see more games from this team.  What's changed is that my level of satisfaction, specifically in regard to this series, has become completely dependent upon results.  I'm not used to feeling this way about a Celtics team.   

Prior to the series there was room for me to be proud of the group even if they lost a tightly contested series.  Milwaukee is an excellent team with a generational talent, so there's no shame in losing if our best effort wasn't good enough.  I just can't get past the regular season and game 4.  Forcing a game 7 isn't enough to make up for it.

Sadly, during the season this site gets a bunch less participation between games when the Celtics are winning than when they lose.

That would be great for 2 reasons: The team flipped  a switch, and I get to nuke all the Bucks fans on FB giving me grief.
There's even a FB page that is all about having a funeral for the Celtics after the game.

I want to be wrong about this team and coach very badly.

On a serious note, I'd be ecstatic and would genuinely feel we have a shot at winning it all. I'd also apologize to this team for being down on them and counting them out. I hope I'm wrong, it's just the C's body language, lack of adjustments from Stevens and flat performances in these last few games just don't give me confidence they can extend this series past tonight. In a way, it feels like the players have also checked out + there's continuing drama over Kyrie's FA news.

But again, I'd love to be wrong.

The reason for this (in my case) is that I am looking for people that can understand my plight as a fan of this particular team.  Obviously for anyone living in Boston or the NE area, there are more empathetic ears and people that have watched every game in the postseason with whom one can converse about the games.  When the Celtics win, I am generally in a pretty good mood the following day and when they lose, particularly in the postseason, I am not happy.  Since Game 4, I have been in a wretched mood and I am looking forward to tonight regardless of the outcome.  Either I get closure, or the team actually puts up a fight and plays a complete game. 

Nick, just to finish on your point, I need to let out my frustration on this medium more than I need to gloat or talk about everything being rosy when the Celtics win, but I will try to remember your words and post in both scenarios going forward.
