the Rockets' analysis uses the NBA's own official interpretation of the officiating in that Game 7.

Seems like the NBA identified the missed calls and Houston just extrapolated the impact on scoring.

I'm not surprised. I hate the way Harden plays but he draws a lot of fouls referees don't call. It's akin to how those Riley's Knicks teams had that "if you foul every possession, refs can't call it every time", except only for a player. Yesterday there was some shocking stuff, on those Klay Thompson's close outs for example.

Complicated for the refs though - and the league itself. If they call the game by the law, Harden would probably average some 20 FTs per game. Or teams would start giving him more space and he'd average over 45 ppg. Where do you go from there?

They had a lot of dubious conclusions regarding the outcomes of those calls and how they cost them points deciding to automatically give the team points based team stats for the year. Plus there is the fact that they still would have had to play a whole other series with no guarantee of winning that series.

The Rockets are such whiners.

Harden is lucky that the league allows his 3-4 steps on every shot and his "jack knife my legs forward on every shot to initiate contact" move.

The ref problem from the GSW-HOU game is all on the NBA for not addressing the crap both teams pulled all season and for reffing differently in the playoffs

The team centered around James Harden is complaining about unfair officiating.  That cracks me up.

If they called the game by the rules it would become more of a team sport and a better product overall. You might actually have upsets in the playoffs. I hope there will come a day I don't have to check the channel listing to make sure I'm watching the NBA instead of the WWE.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

I wonder if they'd ever acknowledge all the points they'd lose if refs called travels

To be fair to Houston, complaining of bad calls in series to get the calls going your way works. I remember Phil Jackson complaining about a lack of calls early in the 2010 Finals and then they got every single call in the 2nd half of game 7. That game is on a lot of national media lists as one of the worst officiated games ever. Do they get those calls if a coaching legend isn't calling out the league publicly after every game?

Jackson also cried about Powe going to line more than his whole team in 2008 but that didn't work out as well for Phil...

Doesn't work every time but it definitely works.

Well, if their opponents are fouling them, shouldn't the fouls be called because their opponents foul too much?

I don't know if I like this "Harden already gets lots of fouls, doesn't deserve more" theory.

And Harden draws lots of weird, unusual, fouls that don't seem right, but still, they're fouls.

Harden is the beneficiary, much like Giannis and Lebron, of a ton of calls that should be offensive fouls. Also, he uses the Reggie Miller leg flail/CP3 jump into the defender first then shoot moves to get what amounted to a league record 95 foul calls on three point shots. That's why its comical that Harden would be complaining

I have been calling for more Ts from Brad when the refs are just punishing the Celtics all year. It does work...
