Question from another thread: which Celtic has had the best statistical season since Larry Bird?

After a glance at those numbers, seems like IT was the most dominant offensively but the worst defensively, and Pierce seems like the best all around (considering defense and rebounding). Kyrie, though, has the best block numbers, which surprises me.

I would throw 2007-08 Kevin Garnett out to be considered.

I added KG to the link in the front page, but in terms of statistical production, I don't think he's in the conversation.  Advanced "stats" usually aren't statistics at all, but rather formulas / metrics that try to quantify stats in a unique way.  Some are okay, some are garbage.

In terms of actual impact, KG of course belongs in the conversation, probably at the top of the list.

Pierce played 39 minutes during a slower pace era.  Kyrie and IT only played 33 and 33.8. 
Per 36, Pierce was 9.5 FTA to IT's 9.1. 

The team record in 2005-6 was 33-49.  I'd give the nod to IT for putting up similar numbers on a 20 win better team.

Depends on what stats you look at. The other three threw up a lot more shots meaning more PPG, but KG dwarfed the others in many categories like rebounds, blocks, and defensive rating. And there are the advanced stats that paint him as the best, like the ones I originally posted

If Kyrie drew that much contact, he wouldn't play more than 50 games a season.

IT clearly had the best box score averages, with Pierce a close 2nd.  But KG's 07-08 season was the most all-around impactful, and Pierce's 07-08 season is probably next.

Kyrie is showing in the playoffs, though, not many can do what he does when the games really matter.

He can't because if he did his career would be over quickly.  He's too slight of build to withstand absorbing contact at the rim with any frequency.
