Not sure if Sheriden is a valid source of info, what do others think? Also stories about Simmons missing a game from a hangover

The degree to which Brown lost the locker room was amplified on March 25 when Ben Simmons sat out a 21-point loss to the Orlando Magic due to a “stomach virus.”

In actuality, a source close to the team told the Daily News, Simmons had spent the previous night partying in Orlando. The “stomach virus” was a fallacy, although that is nothing new for the Sixers organization. They used to do the same thing when Allen Iverson was partying and gambling his nights away in Atlantic City and showing up for practice hung over. Larry Brown was the mastermind of those cover-ups, although the stories eventually came out.

The situation has been in flux ever since, with the Sixers’ shoddy performances drawing boos from the home crowd after Game 1 – a dynamic that went away in Game 2 after the Sixers produced a 51-point third quarter and defeated the Nets 145-123 to even the series at a game apiece.

But the Sixers are a mess internally, with Brown having long ago lost the locker room following the acquisition of Jimmy Butler, but before the acquisition of Tobias Harris. The breaking point came at a game in Portland when Brown had Bruce Bowen address the team about “San Antonio Spurs culture” – a speech that went over like a lead balloon to such an extent that Joel Embiid and Bowen got into each other‘s faces.

I'd probably specify which Brown you're talking about in the title. I thought (and I'm sure others will too) that you were talking about Jaylen Brown.

Jimmy Butler is a cancer.  Hes turning into the new Dwight Howard, seriously, we routinely grill Lebron on this forum for being a coach killer, and rightfully so, but this follows Jimmy Butler EVREYWHERE and its twice as bad.  there use to be a lot of talk about the Celtics acquiring him, we should all be thankful we didnt.

All that aside, hearing all this makes me extremely happy.

I don’t want Philly to self destruct until they beat the Raptors.

I totally thought this was about Jaylen until I read some of the post, lol.

Anyone else notice the part about bowen and embiid getting in each others faces.

Embiid is a jerk. He is a self involved, pompous, entitles man child that is being pandered to by the nba corporate agenda.

Well, if there IS a dumpster fire imminent here's hoping that DeAngelo, Caris and Co can toss more gasoline on it tonight.

If this report is true I feel bad for Coach Brown. He is a quality coach but will get blamed for things going south.

This is not even mentioning the "Corn" that is Simmons. How the league has anointed this guy as a star WITHOUT holding him accountable for a lack of his J is UNBELIEVABLE...

LOL even former President Obama joked on Rajon Rondo for his lack of a jumpshot.........................

BTW - I left out "UNI" on the "CORN"....I saw Ben Simmons as a Unicorn for perhaps 1 or 2 seasons but he should've BY NOW further developed his game......

If PHI can't make it past BKN then I hope Coach Brown does NOT get fired and if he does I'm sure he'll land on a deserving team.

Reads more like a New York reporter trying to stir things up rather than reporting facts.  If Brown had actually lost the locker room, don't you think the Philly media would have found out about it and reported it?  It is especially ill-timed since Brown's fiery halftime talk was called out by Sixers players for their great 3rd quarter performance in game 2.  Sheridan is apparently in CYA mode now.

The title is wrong. It should be "Brett Brown has losers in the 76ers locker room".

You don't have to be a good guy to be a winner in the NBA, or even get along with your coach, but you do need to be focused on what matters. Brett Brown can't make Simmons or Embiid care if they don't want to.

An unconfirmed report that New York Daily News won't publish Chris Sheridan articles anymore.

Mods, I inadvertently posted this twice. I posed it separately in 76ers thread after I got a message I had timed out. Feel free to merge or whatever makes most sense.

This story keeps getting weirder.  Never cared for Sheridan, when he was with ESPN.  But that Philly team does seem to have something that is just not right.
