Given Lue's familiarity with Rondo during his time spent here as Doc's assistant, I wonder if a Lue hiring would also increase the chances of the Lakers bringing Rondo back. But I suspect ESPN will soon start the Kyrie/LeBron/Lue reunion rumors.

Lue will be hired because he can keep his mouth shut and do exactly as Lebron asks him.  So for millions , yeah i guess i could fall in line too....but at a certain point you know people ate laughing at you ....Tye Lue . But ....we know what Lue real legacy and record is with and without his walking paycheck called Lebron

Buss is weak too.  Or she would hire a real coach and make the diva like it or leave.

LeGM the cancer has finally reached its terminal stage. Next step is to force the Lakers to sign his "boys" to albatross contracts that become untradeable.
And I can't wait!

The amount of power Lebron has had with an organization has been a turn off for a lot of star recently l. I think if the lakers do indeed hire him they will never get a second star. I also don’t think in a million years kyrie would ever play for a doofus like lue after playing under Stevens. At least we can kiss that bizarre Stevens a smith fantasy good bye

Jeanie Buss is a tool. LeBron is just pulling the strings. He controls the Lakers organization, even their fans.

They might as well hire Lue and whoever else Lebron is interested in playing with. I don't think it's a silly idea.

They signed up for this ride and whether they like it or not they're committed to it. They could field a much more cohesive team next year and be competitive.

Still curious to see who they actually hire.  They've been setting up a lot of interviews.  And while I think Lue is a bad coach, he is absolutely a better coach than Walton and he is far more equipped to handle the job than Walton was.  Walton might do ok with the young Kings team, but he had no business trying to coach a team trying to win and compete (similar to David Blatt in Cleveland). Walton was in far over his head.  For all of Lue's faults, he at least knows what it takes to coach championship level teams that want deep playoff runs.  In addition, Lue is pretty well liked around the league so that might actually help the Lakers attract free agents this summer.  Williams would do the same though and he is apparently also a leading contender to land the job.

If I were a Lakers fan, I'd be depressed to have Lue and Williams as the choices.  Williams had a 173-221 record in his 5 seasons coaching NOP.

Yeah, but the location where he coached is much more important than the record when he coached.

Apparently Anthony Davis loved him.

Paul's last year (46 win playoff team).  the tank year after Paul and then the first 3 seasons of Davis and they were a 45 win playoff team when they let him go.  The next year they won 30 with Gentry.

In other words, I don't think you can glean all that much from Williams record in New Orleans.
