Still curious to see who they actually hire. They've been setting up a lot of interviews. And while I think Lue is a bad coach, he is absolutely a better coach than Walton and he is far more equipped to handle the job than Walton was. Walton might do ok with the young Kings team, but he had no business trying to coach a team trying to win and compete (similar to David Blatt in Cleveland). Walton was in far over his head. For all of Lue's faults, he at least knows what it takes to coach championship level teams that want deep playoff runs. In addition, Lue is pretty well liked around the league so that might actually help the Lakers attract free agents this summer. Williams would do the same though and he is apparently also a leading contender to land the job.
