Welp Kawhis staying in the east and Toronto’s winnin their first championship

I was worried about this, too, but then I re-read the Kawhi saga from last year and the dude really is a wildcard. If you're willing to completely quit on a team like the Spurs with Pop at the helm, then you can do anything. He said he wants to go to the Clippers - I could totally see him winning a championship in Toronto and then leaving. He doesn't seem like the type to be persuaded by anything.

THE irony here is that this repairs Durant's legacy.

Other than that it is nice to see Curry eat some of his medicine and for Kawhi to avenge that dirty Pachulia play that took him out the last time he was dominating the warriors.

Why do people hate Curry so much? Isn't he everything you claim to want in a star?

I've been saying it for awhile: a championship might seal the deal with him in Toronto. Like Lebron, he's won two championships with two different teams. Lebron hasn't won in LA yet though and Kawhi might love that opportunity. Imagine bringing a championship to LA before the self proclaimed King? And with the Clippers? AND while he's across the hall with the Lakers?

He bought a house in Toronto. Pretty much safe bet that he's staying in Toronto. At least for two years right.

Showboats too much. And him chewing his mouthguard is disgusting.

Spurs essentially told Kawhi he was a liar about his injury. The bridge was burned by the Spurs, standing underneath it.

Obviously can’t second guess injuries but if the Dubs lose the Finals I wonder if there will be any regrets about not playing KlY in Game 3.

And if Game 5 is a must win will they send out Durant if he’s not fully fit? They would have to it could be his last game for the team.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Pretty much have to. Win or go home game, and Durant's last game with Golden State.

Spurs essentially told Kawhi he was a liar about his injury. The bridge was burned by the Spurs, standing underneath it.

It was more than just that. He was being paid like $18M to be the star of that team and he just completely disappeared. I thought David Robinson said it best:

“You step into that responsibility, man, you’re the face of the franchise. You can’t *not* talk, right? You’ve got to let people hear your voice, not somebody else’s….

If you want to be a top two or three player in the league, you’ve got to be a leader. LeBron doesn’t sit around waiting for people to talk for him. LeBron gets out there and says ‘hey, this is my team, this is what’s happening.’ And I think that’s where Kawhi is. He’s meant so much for our franchise. We love him, we all want him to be there”

I totally agree that Kawhi has balled out this year and is doing his leading on the court. This is an absolute best-case scenario for the Raptors. I just don't have a lot of respect for how he handled last year. Even AD wanted to play after requesting a trade and was willing to take the boos.

I've never liked him because he's cocky and to me his game wouldn't work in any era except today where everything's centered around the 3 and the rules don't allow defenders to be physical at all out on the perimeter.

But he has delivered some big efforts in the current playoffs when defenses are focused primarily on limiting him.  I guess I'm finally warming up to him.

Kawhi actually holds and dribbles the ball more than Kyrie does.

I like how there are Lakers fans wearing LeBron jerseys in the stand.

That annoying SOB announcing the game would have bullied him into the hardwood.

Should have been 4-0 tonight if the Raptors took care of business in Game 2.
