It's obvious now how wrong the anti-Durant crowd has been, just as I have been saying all along. KD has clearly been the most important player on the Warriors since he joined them and I have to seriously question the basketball knowledge of anyone who thought otherwise.

The bottom line is that if it wasn't for Kyrie and Love being injured the Warriors would have zero titles sans KD, and you can rest assured they won't be winning any more titles if KD leaves this summer. Of course, I actually think KD getting injured has left the door open for his return now that his critics are left having to eat crow.

This attitude is why the outcome I am rooting for is a warriors victory with durant remaining out the whole way.

If they lose, the haters will claim they were never any good in the first place without durant and they only won the 2015 title because of luck.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
It's over after 1 game? Lol what?

Golden State's bench is a problem man...

Think about it Steph had 30+ Klay 20+ Green triple double Lowry and Kawhi combine for 30% shooting...

Having Durant costs the Warriors depth and now that he's gone the Warriors are relying on G-leaguers to give them mins in the NBA finals the Warriors need Durant to win this series for sure.

Pascal Siakam also shot 14-17 with 32 points. Despite what you think of his rise to stardom, there is no way he can continue to replicate that performance. Kawhi has been great these playoffs, but game 1 credit goes entirely to Siakam.

Probably shouldn't count out the Warriors until the series is over.

The media never mention Anunoby.  I guess he's out for the year....appendix surgery.

It would be nice if the media could mention his name once in a while and what his role on the Raptors was.

Or was he really such an minor player for them?

In any case the Raptors can look forward to his return next year.  The Lowry Gasol Green trio is so dang old..

This is sort of where I'm at. I love Curry and agree with those who say he is underrated but I also think Durant is the better player and gets even less respect for, as far as I can tell, very petty reasons. It would be nice to see him vindicated here, one way or another.

I'm not worried about Durant getting his due credit.  2 x MVP of finals solved that.  I am still very annoyed that Durant chose to go to the Warriors.  Because of Leonard I'm rooting for the Raptors, but seeing the original big three of GS win on their own would be pleasing as it would highlight the imbalance of the last few years...bascially an all star team against the rest of the poor suckers in the league.

Being peeved at Durant's decision doesn't mean I don't think the world of him as a talent. And I'd welcome him to Boston with open arms if it were doable.

just seems. to me , totally a guess , but seems like the recent events , draft and ll the rest for me seems to lend to KD staying with GS.

I heard all the houses and business stuff moved to this or that place.  No big deal to sell or move it back , I think KD is not 100% mind made up .  That Bourchure guy has jumped the gun IMO.

Toronto will be up 2-0 after tonight.

The Golden State Warriors will be in trouble and will be facing an 0-2 deficit for the first time since their relevant run.

Because it's not possible to think the warriors were a legit great team before Durant came and to also think that Durant is a great player.

Sure. I totally said that.

Durant made the NBA boring for what feels like forever now that's why everyone hates him.

Looks like it’s going to be the Klay Thompson game. Don’t underestimate him as a scorer; dude can put up points in a hurry.

Sounds about right.  Celtics aside I barely watched the playoffs last year.  I didn't tune in to any of the Finals games.

Definitely respect Durant's basketball abilities.  Everything else not so much.

Warriors already in foul trouble.

I like how the crowd is chanting "Draymond sucks"

That quarter where Klay dropped 30+ was insane.

He can't be foul prone though
