Jokic just doesn’t seem like a player that can take over a game when he needs to. He will make crazy plays throughout the course of a game as the situations dictate, but he’s not really the type that you give the ball to and let him do his thing.

He puts up some great stat lines, but I’m just not sure I trust him to take over and sway a playoff series in crunch time.

If he does just that in a few weeks, he very well may be the best big man.

Because he doesnt force anything

He uplifts his teammates game

But if they struggle I have seen him shoot much more. Or bang inside more for  buckets

The guy can score against anybody due to his size

It depends on what we're talking about.

I think Jokic is my first team All NBA center. It's him or Embiid and I think Jokic's playmaking is so otherworldly, he's gets it.

Davis isn't even in the conversation because of the season he's had. But, that said, if I was drafting a franchise this summer and I had my pick, Davis would be my first pick of all the bigs in the league, still.

You are confused

How can Jokic be 1st all star team on your team

Yet AD would go #1

Huh?

Because AD removed himself from about 2/3 of the season and sabotaged his team. When we're looking back at this season, AD doesn't deserve a spot on an all NBA team.

When evaluating talent and looking ahead, I'd say he's still the better bet to be the better player.

I think Jokic is a quite a way ahead of davis at offense. Jokic is a juggernaught offensively.

Quite a way ahead?  Davis scores more points, gets more offensive rebounds, has significantly fewer turnovers, gets to the line much more, and shoots a higher FG%, 3PT% and TS%.

Jokic is a better distributor, but I don't think that necessarily puts him ahead of Davis.

I would trust Jokic with the 3 than AD (crucial moments)

Jokic is also a better ball handler

And just overall has better instincts

AD in college dominated by his physical tools but not much skill

He has developed his offense

But Jokic is a natural on the offensive end

Very dangerous

On a garbage team that hasnt won anything substantial with him.

Jokic is the focal point of denvers offense, the main cog.

Nop runs off Jrue and davis is the recipient of that offense alot.

When did Anthony Davis become best big man.

About the same time that Cousins blew out his Achilles tendon.

Long before that. Can’t really talk about Jokic’s lack of defense and then a post later claim Cousins was the best big man in the game until his injury.

Davis is hands down better than both of them when healthy, though I know health is a bit of a concern for him.

The answer is no.  The better question is: Has Embiid passed AD as the best big man?

Per NBA.com, Denver's defrtg is 106.7 with Jokic on the floor but with him off the floor it improves to 103.  Furthermore on the Dunc'd On podcast where they were discussing best centers, they indicated that Jokic's defensive numbers were good when there was another big (Millsap or Plumlee) on court with him but they were much worse when he was the only big on court.  I won't even compare Jokic's anemic block numbers to AD and Embiid.  Even if you think Jokic is better than AD and Embiid offensively which I don't, their defense is vastly superior to his.

No he hasn't, but Jokic did have the best year of any big man this year IMO.  I have him 1st team all NBA and even as a legit MVP candidate.  Not sure why PG13 was getting so much pub when I heard very little about Jokic.

The eye test says no, but the record test says yes.

I think you could argue that Denver has a better coach than AD has had, and you might also argue that Jokic has slightly better teammates than AD has ever had.

I would say Jrue Holliday is a better two way player than Jamal Murray, but not by that much. Gary Harris is a very nice complimentary player, and Paul Milsap is still solid, although he just isn't what he was a couple of years ago. They have some other nice role players. But Denver is a couple of levels better than any team AD has ever played for.

As spectacular as Davis is, he just hasn't ever lifted a team quite like Jokic has this year.

I think Denver dodged a bullet that OKC finished 8th.  I thought they were a prime target to be upset in Round 1, but I can't see the Spurs or Clippers pulling it off.  Clips lack talent and the Spurs are worse on the road than Denver.

Think we need to see Jokic carry this team to some wins in Round 2 of the playoffs before we crown him.

Jokic doesn't exactly scare me as a rim protector / defender....not saying he's bad but he's not the fleetest of foot.

A resounding no to the poll, for me.
