It seems a good two weeks to up his minutes and shots per game.
I thought Hayward had turned corner till the sprained ankle and his progress would accelerate but that was a setback as well as by concussion.
He is a smart player and as nice as a drive and kick is, he is frustratingly predictable and it reinforces a lack of confidence and that he is not back to his teammates.

Never watched Hayward when he was with the Jazz.
It looks like he gaining some confidence.Give him Jasons minutes and give Jason a workload break
Jason has been like an iron man these first two seasons -he looks a little thin

He’s definitely more aggressive going to the rim, not shying away from contact.

He is dunking a lot easier now too, I felt earlier in the season he really need to exert a lot of energy to get above the rim.

He’s still slightly hesitant, not sure if it’s the last hurdle physically or if it’s mental, but he’s close. Hopefully he can clear that one by the playoffs, but we should all be very optimistic for next season. He’s come a long way since the beginning of the season.

He's not quite there yet but he's been trying to compensate for it in other ways.

What I think has come back to him is his confidence in himself and in knowing better what ways he can influence the team. Obviously you want good players to shoot the ball but I think he more than the others on our team can still influence the game even if he's not shooting the ball well.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

I think the one thing that Gordon needs more confidence in is his outside shot, especially from 3 point line.  The problem is that his shot usage is pretty low, and seems to shy away if he misses a couple.  Attacking the hoop and getting to the foul line should help him get more confidence at the 3 point line, but hope to see more improvement there soon.

The last Cleveland game was the first time his strides looked both long and quick. All season his strides seemed short and he didn't have the speed to challenge anyone. Didn't know if it was mental vs. physical. But finally he actually moved like a healthy version of himself for a handful of plays in that game. Will be interesting to see if there is progress from there.

He has a long way to go yet.

He is still a liability against true starters in the league and is looking a little better going against bench units.

i think he is starting to get it again, i think someone in the another thread said he's about 85-90% now, with just a few more games left, perfect for the playoffs. He is getting to very good shape just before playoffs which is a good sign. I hope by playoffs, Stevens thins the lineup to a 8 man rotation.

I hope not. I thought thinning the rotation was what lost us the series to Cleveland. We were worn down by the end.

I'm sure the guy will be ready to go next season just in time for his contract year (once again).

I think my question was answered in first half and it wasn't his sprint beating a smaller guard after a recovered block and the dunk but a few minutes later i saw a quick cut across the lane that didn't result in anything but i thought that looked to be an especially quick. burst.
Gordons final stage actually could pick up pace as all the pieces come together.A couple of weeks could just build on itself.
I remember breakaways and hearing footsteps, Gordon didn't let them interfere last night.

of course , i can still do some sports things too , if i take enough Asprin or Aleeve.

Am I missing something?  The guy is averaging 11 points a game in March?  I thought this was his season average...

Next step for Hayward is to get his confidence back on his 3 point shot.  He is capable of hitting at 40% clip.  My guess it is low 30's this season.

As the 3 weapon expands, more guys have learned to get the shot off very quickly with great accuracy, since team defenses have gotten quicker to rotate and defend the shot.

Bogdonavich is a good example of having a quick 3 point release. Hayward's release is relatively slow. He needs to develop a quicker release. This is something he will have to address in the off season.

His last 21 games (since Feb 1), he’s shooting 38.8% from 3, 53.1% from the field. Also 4 boards and 3.6 assists for 25 mins/game.

To me, the sign that he is anywhere near back to being the player he was in Utah, is the thunderous throwdown on a drive in traffic.
