BOS is familiar with Crazy....

Head-butting stanchions....talking to himself....alleged "Honey Nut Cheerios" incident...bar fights....

The latter part of KG's years even had some opposing coaches vocally critical of KG. And we STILL loved him, for the most part.

Get ready for MORE with Kyrie. I'd suggest we buckle up.

Have to keep Kyrie

I was about to write a post about how we should let Kyrie & Horford walk, trade for AD and go after Kemba. So I googled Kembas age, 29.

Kyrie is only 27, we can’t let this guy go. Danny has to know this. You don’t let 27 year old players with that talent go.

Idk how to fix this team, but rooting for Kyrie to leave ain’t it.

I think we should keep Kyrie if he wants to stay. At least so that way if it doesn't work out next year we can trade him for something instead of losing him for nothing.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Brooklyn, Lakers, or Knicks.

I hope he goes to the Lakers and he and Bron get their butts kicked by the Warriors, Rockets etc for the next few years.

i can't believe posters i generally respect as knowledgable think he would go sign with a guy he hated playing with for 4 years...

didn't you hear?  they kissed and made up.

honestly i'm thinking if he doesn't join up with KD, then he'll look around and see that joining Bron in LA is probably his easiest way to get back to being relevant without having to take on leadership responsibilities.

There is a huge gap between apologizing to someone for some things that happened and actually going back to work with them every day. I have had plenty of girlfriends over the years that i looked back on and realized there were a few things i screwed up on. In the cases of the ones i stayed friends, i definitely have apologized for a thing or two i realized from my more life experience. That by no stretch means it solves all the issues and i would want to be back with that person. Kyrie really does want to be the star. He may have apologized for how he handled it, but he by no means in the world wants to go play in Lebron's shadow again from anything i have read. The latest is that he may not want to be play in Durant's shadow (and durant is probably best player in nba and in heart of his prime, unlike twilight lebron. Everything I have read or seen over the years and recently, except a rogue piece from a SAS type to drum up clicks has ever indicated the slightest possibility of irving wanting to play with lebron.

To be honest, if literal Jesus signed with Boston, the fans here would whine and criticize him for the length of his contract.

we would then get quips like

looked like jesus

acts like judas

shoots like mary

Like when Johnny Damon left the Red Sox for the Yankees—looks like Jesus, acts like Judas, throws like Mary.

BINGO! lol

If Kyrie re-signs here and plays at an all-star level, will fans “rally around the family” and appreciate him for his strengths, rather than criticizing him for his faults?  Or will people brutally ride him, when he deserves it (this playoff series, lousy leadership) and when he doesn’t (pretty much his play on the court the entire regular season and first round).

I think Kyrie is a guy that needs to be embraced. Can our fans show him the love that he needs?

Speaking from experience from going to many games this season, I think the fans have shown him plenty of love. Between all the people I see wearing Kyrie jerseys (including myself), to the ovations he gets at home(myself included), I don't think love is an issue. It's just a whiny minority that mis-represent the majority

As for being booed if he doesn't play well, he and any athlete deserve it. This is Boston and we expect winners, not guys who are going to shoot 7 for 22. That applies to anybody else. And Kyrie would get the same reaction from fans of any other major sports city.

I disagree with this part.  I think fans that boo their own players suck, personally, especially if it's just because of a poor shooting night.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Roy going all Rage Against the Machine in his opening sentence...nice!

If we had drafted another player at #1 and he had made 6 All-Star games (and counting) and was just entering his prime, the love for that guy would be incredible. It's really only because he was constantly beating us with Lebron and also the uncertainty of whether he would re-sign that he hasn't been embraced more. If he does re-sign, then the uncertainty will be gone and people should feel free to fully buy into the Kyrie movement.

I am ready to put this crappy season behind us and see what Danny has in store next. Hopefully Kyrie is a part of it.

It's more than just a poor shooting night. It's just an overall poor performance on both ends. . You will never see Celtic fans jeer on their team as long as they make effort.

Sure character matters.  I don't see anything that makes me think that Kyrie is low character, any more than any other player on the team.

Kyrie is who he is.  He's a great player who isn't a great leader, who had one bad playoff series.

Maybe not as bad as people paint him to be, but he doesn't fit the Celtic culture. He tried before, but I don't know why he stuck with his old ways.  I have no problem with his off-court personality. But his on-court performance have left alot to be desired.

You hated Jeff Green for his lack of motor, but you seem to defend Kyrie for similar problem.
