Surprised they signed him to something that long. He's 30 in December and is quite injury prone.

Bledsoe does not scare me. I like this from our perspective!

Hopefully they come to regret that contract.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
So, $17.5M/yr.

I don't especially like Bledsoe (he always seems angry in the wrong kind of way) and he is aging a bit. He is certainly a useful player for Milwaukee and it's not like they are going to have a ton of cap space so might as well go for it and hope for the best.

Way worse contracts out there, so I don't think this is too bad.  Good deal for both sides like Moranis said.

I would have let him go. He is terrible.

Bad decision by the Bucks.

Man, they really gonna tie up all their cap in Bledsoe and Middleton?

That's the #1 team in the conference right now so why not?

If Bledsoe plays like he has this season over the life of the contract, it's a very good deal.  But he's dependent upon his athleticism and he's entering the backside of his prime.

Still a decent move IMO.  He'll help them win over the next couple of years before he fades.

Yes, indeed. What they're doing is clearly working, so why change it?
They'll keep Brogdon as well and Lopez is also a kind of must.
Then the question is whether they'll resign Middleton or Mirotic or both.
I wouldn't pay Middleton a (close)-max contract if he's seeking that.

Yeah and it isn't like he got a max contract.  He got a contract of a 3/4 type player and that is exactly what he is.  The deal also sends the right message to the whole team as they enter the playoff push.  Maybe they could have got him for a bit less money this summer, but why take the risk.  It is also insurance in case Brogdon gets some crazy offer or they can't keep Middleton or Mirotic.
