This is a hard question. You could just go the conservative route of saving cap space by letting Rozier, Morris, ect go. Give more responsibility to Brown and Tatum, and look for whoever the next big star that becomes available is. Problem with that is we will likely be making the SAC pick and LAC pick this year and now the only extra pick we would have moving forward is the MEM pick. Brown and Tatum both have one less year of control. So our assets are starting to deteriorate. There also isn't an obvious superstar moving soon after Davis, and we would lack a star to pair with that guy to get him to stay if we could acquire him. Horford is in his last year and a year older now.

The other approach is a full on youth movement. Let Morris go, trade Hayward and/or Horford for picks, give more responsibility to Tatum and Brown, ect. Problem with that is even a Smart, Brown, Tatum core by itself is probably still a playof team in the east. You arent getting bad enough to tank, you arent getting a lot ofr Horford or Hayward, and even if you trade the vets and gte cap space in summer 20 it is a bad free agent class.

No real good approach other than hope Tatum/Brown becoem Durant/Kawhi or George/Butler at least.

If Kyrie leaves that means the end of any dreams of contending in the near future.

In that case I'd like to see Ainge focus on building a supporting cast of hardened, veteran gamer types, guys who are a lot closer to Smart and Baynes (and old friend Jae Crowder) than Mook and Rozier.  Guys who just plain give a crap, every night.

The Celts as constructed are seriously lacking in that element.

If we can't contend I'd like to at least like the team thats on the floor every night and feel that on any given night I can expect them to play hard and disciplined.

If Kyrie leaves we will be a #1 or 2 seed and everyone will be happy in the locker room. I've seen enough and been in locker rooms...they don't respect Kyrie as the leader. He think leading is getting 35 pts.

I'm tired of Tatum not getting his just due. I'm tired of everyone blaming Brown and Rozier.

We need a KG...someone to hold these guys accountable. Kyrie isn't that person.

Kyrie is a empty stat sheet stuffer. His stats don't equate to wins.

Stop blaming Brown. He's a bench player and not even getting major minutes.

This team is disjointed. I truly feel none of them like playing with Kyrie. Its obvious.
It really is funny when people say a guy who averaged 30/4/3 in a historic Finals comeback, including hitting one of the biggest shots in NBA history to win a championship, produces stats that don't lead to wins.

Literally can't make this stuff up

It also helps when you have the GOAT on your team too.

C's are something like 7-6 when Kyrie has 20pts/10 assists.

Apparently some on these Celtics fans only want to see Kyrie break ankles, put up 35 and we lose. Then they can blame everyone else for standing around doing nothing and praise Kyrie because he did his part.

Kyrie is Robin trying to convince the team he's Batman. The team is laughing at him like the Joker. Well I'm the Riddler...so riddle me this. How do we beat Philly in Philly and lose to the Bulls when they play and flew the previous night and we rested?

I don't think Kyrie is a Cancer.  I think he's a great player and as big of a Diva as the Celtics have had.

I think our young players think they don't need Kyrie to win based on their incredible run last year and therefore aren't willing to make the sacrifices required of players on Kyrie's team.

I watched a game recently where Kyrie hit the deck.  Three Celtics players walked away from him, and only the wise Al Horford rushed over to help him up.  I thought it said everything about the team chemistry.  Only the guy who has made deep playoff runs MANY times in his career recognizes that you need legit stars to make the final leap.

The team as constituted doesn't work.  There are now two obvious camps within the Celtics team. You either need to move the young guys or Kyrie because we KNOW Kyrie will walk away from Championships if he's not feeling valued.

Team seems to play better overall without Kyrie..
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

We beat Philly because Morris decided to show up against his new "rival" Tobias Harris, whom Philly acquired specifically for him  ::)

Next time Morris shows up will probably be against his arch nemesis, Tristan Thompson.

You let Kyrie walk, keep the picks for now and let the youngins grow. Maybe someone else becomes unhappy and you trade for them.

Personally, I would move heaven and earth to get Klay Thompson but that's not happening. It's not like anyone is beating the Warriors anyway.

I really like the PG at Marquette. If he could backup Rozier that's a start. Let Brown and Tatum grow into their roles and in 2 years both will be in the All Star game.

Don't sell the farm to make Kyrie happy.

I want to be done watching Terry Rozier.  If Kyrie goes I hope and pray Rozier goes too

Rozier is frustrated and rightfully so. Kyrie said he wants more minutes and Stevens is giving it to him. Kyrie knows that when Rozier is right the chemistry is better.

Rozier is a starter anywhere else. Sure he has bad games but why dont people criticize Kyrie when he goes 9-27? Rozier is a better defender, rebounder. He doesn't complain and he's about team. Kyrie is a diva.
