The Raptors have offered Kyle Lowry and Jonas Valanciunas to the Grizzlies for Mike Conley and Marc Gasol, via @JakeLFischer.

Dunno who this guy is, but he seems well linked, and has done numerous interviews with players like Rondo, Perkins, Durant, etc.

But oof.

That's gotta sting if true.

I would prefer to face a Toronto team without Lowery. He kills the Cs

I hop Toronto makes that deal, cause it will make them much worse.

Ibaka is having a good season only because he is playing center, when he is a PF he sucks.

Siakam has been a real help to that team, Ibaka to PF bumps him to the bench.

Lowry is a year shorter deal than Conley.
Gasol cannot keep up with the young guns Toronto has.
Move adds 7 mill to current roster

And Leonard still leaves in offseason leaving them with Gasols big contract and 2 more years of often injured Conley.

And that trade improves the Grizzlies enough for us to get the pick.

Hope it happens

Not bad idea but might screw up Rap chemistry.

more rumors

Memphis looking for a lot more than Kyle Lowry and Jonas Valanciunas for Marc Gasol and Mike Conley Jr., per sources. Grizzlies asked for Pascal Siakam, but Raptors are not trading him. Toronto willing to put Delon Wright and first-rounder into the deal.

The jazz currently have an offer on the table to Memphis and are waiting for the grizzlies to decide. Sources say Memphis is seriously considering offers from Utah and Detroit

I would prefer to face a Toronto team without Lowery. He kills the Cs

And collapses in the playoffs.  I would rather he stay.

I think for Toronto this makes a ton of sense.  They are all-in on hoping Kawhi returns.  You've gotta 1) make this team as competitive as possible now while also 2) a team that can compete for the next couple years.

Marc Gasol is a huge upgrade over Valanciunas.  That's not debatable.
Kyle Lowry will be 33 years old this offseason.  Mike Conley will be 31.  (Lowry is 1.5 years older.)  That age difference for point guards is a big deal when looking at signing a deal for the next 2-4 years.

Conley / Danny Green / Kawhi / Siakam / Marc Gasol is a very strong starting 5 with a strong bench which could easily win the East and even compete for a championship.  No brainer for Toronto to do this IMO.  Yes, if Kawhi leaves it will suck, but that's the case no matter what.  They are all-in on convincing him to stay and this move works towards that.

For Memphis, they should need more.  They can get better return back by splitting them up or involving a 3rd team that takes Lowry.

Me too. Conley is the better player now.

And the Celtics never have problems with Valanciunas, because we have Baynes to match him.
Gasol is a tougher match-up for us. So hopefully this deal doesn't take place.

Idea that makes more sense for Memphis:  http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y95a26r6

Philly gets Lowry and trades away Fultz, Wilson Chandler, Mike Muscala
Memphis gets Fultz, Valanciunas, Wilson Chandler, Mike Muscala and trades away Conley + Gasol
Toronto gets Conley + Gasol for Lowry + Valanaciunas

Conley > Lowry despite the all star nods for the playoffs imo

Gasol > Valanciunas

Both guys aren’t selfish on the floor should fit in

Go for it all now with Kawhi possibly leaving
