Well, that pretty much says it all. How do I insert an image directly into the post, as opposed to putting it in as an attachment.

I tried saving it on imgur and using the image shortcut above, but that doesn't seem to work.

Thanks,
Mike

Thanks. I tried doing that, but didn't get anything. See right here:

I also tried adding ".jpg" at the end, but still didn't get anything. Here is the link I used (which should show the image of the Garden):

Your problem is that imgur isn't a direct picture link. The link you tried using is a page, not a picture.

Open the link you used, right click on the image and copy image address. Use that.

Thanks, I got it!

A TP to you both, and a second one in 30 minutes to Erik.

1) Click the mona lisa button. This will create two img tags: [*img][/img] (There won't be a *. I'm using the * to break the functionality and show text here)
2) In between the two tags, paste your image link: https://i.imgur.com/Ea7mRX1.jpg for example

So the final line will be [*img]https://i.imgur.com/Ea7mRX1.jpg[/img]

I tried to post a picture which I have done many times and it's not working.  Has something changed?

Post the url and I'm sure we can figure out the problem.

The problem may be you're using the url for a gallery instead of an actual image.

Example is this: https://imgur.com/gallery/dD1N1cy

vs this: https://i.imgur.com/dD1N1cy.jpg

Both will show up as a pic in your browser, only one will show up here.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Thanks.  I looked up a pic on google images.  Copying it from there, doesn't work for the reasons you said.  Clicking on it to bring me to the source and copying it from there works.  Is there a way to make it work when copying it from google images.  I'm pretty illiterate with this stuff.

If you're in google images (or anywhere, doesn't necessarily need to be google images) just right click on image and select "open image in new tab" then copy the url and paste here.  Assuming of course you're using a Google/Chrome browser, other browsers are different.
