Larry- i was surprised you didn't mention him pulling his father out in front of New York fans to give him a Celtic Jersey.-That and his chesting pulling his Celtics letters after hitting dagger three.-At those moments he is a Celtic and even better he is playing Celtic basketball.
He clearly loves playing for the team, loves the fans, presumably has great respect for the front office and coaching staff, clearly has players on the team like Tatum he's close with... these are all reasons he plans on staying in Boston.

Of course he's staying in Boston.  Why would he want to leave Title Town? Once we trade for Davis, the Celtics will once again have regular parades too.

I think we can probably put the Anthony Davis stuff to bed now.

For whatever reason, he wants nothing to do with Boston. Whatever.....

It’s posturing, means nothing.

They’re just saying that because Davis wants to be traded before the deadline and the Celtics can’t do it yet.  If the deadline passes and he’s still not traded, the tune will change.

As RJ87 said in another thread, it stinks of Rich Paul.

It's a ploy by Rich Paul and co. to make it seem like AD is open to playing for a team other than the Lakers without the possibility of one of those teams being able to acquire him.
I agree with this entirely.

Plus, KG didn't want to come here before he did, and he loved it once he arrived.

That's why Ainge is not afraid to gamble on AD.

If he is staying "for sure" then why doesn't he come out and say so and stop all these rumors? It doesn't make sense why he allows this to play on maybe to his own detriment UNLESS he knows he is not staying.

For one, he does give himself a little wiggle room in case something catastrophic happens. Say Tatum and Brown run into each other and both have serious injuries and Horford decides to retire. Maybe he goes somewhere else in a freak situation like that. Maybe we get swept by the Nets in the first round and he changes his mind. However, barring something crazy it is perfectly reasonable for him to not come out and respond to every single media rumor that comes out. I would be pretty surprised if he isn't talk to his teammates, Brad and Ainge. It doesn't really matter if a few people are freaking out on message boards.
He doesn't need to create wiggle room to leave in a situation like that, everyone would understand injuries, retirements, etc.  If he would leave after a 1st round exit, then again he doesn't need wiggle room because quite frankly he isn't sold on staying and if that is the case it makes a lot more sense why he wouldn't just come out and say things.

I think Kyrie says how he feels at the time.  At the beginning of the season, it would seem foolish to be anywhere else.  As the season has hasn't lived up to expecations (and I believe we are turning the corner), he feels less strongly about staying.  If we have a successful postseason (making the finals) I think he'll re-sign.  If we only make the conference finals again, I'm not sure what he would do.

There is really no wiggle room for negotiation as far as money is concerned, as Kyrie is a max contract player, no questions asked. I just think he likes having fun with the media and fans. It's just like his flat Earth theory. He likes to see how far he can take an idea.

I got 80 million reasons why Kyrie isn't leaving this iconic franchise that is set up to be a perennial contender for the next decade.
