The Portland Trail Blazers agreed to a trade to acquire Cleveland Cavaliers forward Rodney Hood on Sunday, league sources tell ESPN.

The Blazers will send the Cavaliers two second-round picks, one in 2021 and one in 2023, along with the expiring contracts of guards Nik Stauskas and Wade Baldwin, sources said.

Interesting trade for the Cavs.  Really like it for the Blazers.  I guess if Cleveland wasn't going to try to re-sign him this summer picking up some 2nd rounders probably makes sense.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

No reason for the Cavs to overpay to keep someone like Hood.  Two 2nds is good value for Hood.

Portland needs scoring punch on the wing so it's an interesting look for them but I'm just not a Rodney Hood believer.

Justin Holiday and Hood fetching two second round picks each
The days of Jeff Green fetching a protected first twice are gone

You don't believe he exists or you don't believe in his basketball skills? ::)

His basketball skills. The talent is there, it seems to be mental with him. Unfortunately, that's the hardest thing to overcome. If Quin Snyder couldn't get anything out of him in Utah, I don't think it's gonna happen.

I reckon he got screwed a bit by Utah. He was playing career best basketball, averaging effectively 17/3/2 off the bench in 27MPG, and he’s traded to the flaming Cavs.

I think he can easily be a 15PPG guy again.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

When are the cavs going to be competitive again? Sexton could be ok or could be like Dennis Smith and mudiay. Love can’t walk and chew gum without getting hurt.

Depends on how you define competitive.  Looks like the last time they had a winning record without Lebron on the roster was 1997/98.  They don't have any particularly appealing young talent or tradable assets and they are at the bottom of free agent destinations.  They do get rather lucky on getting the #1 pick and they are in the East.

He thinks Hood's game is flat...
