Talking on the 'Woj Pod', Adrian Wojnarowski said this:

"Kyrie has for all the talk around the league, and we've heard it I think there is a lot of presumption out there that Kyrie has this fascination with New York, that some how he wants to end up there... I think he is fond of the Garden (MSG) but there is certainly a lot of wishful thinking out there that Kyrie is in play, now he has been very clear with Boston since the pre-season, in recent weeks and in recent days that he is committed to the Celtics and the Celtics are moving forward with the idea they will get involved with Anthony Davis after the season and they would just like New Orleans to not trade Anthony Davis before Thursday's trade deadline, wait for them, they'll make the best offer and then they have Davis and Kyrie Irving and they hope that secures Irving, but there was a glimmer of hope for L.A (Lakers) today, they're looking for some belief that New Orleans will have to do business with them and it's a unique game of posturing, of all these different agendas a lot of people trying to move pieces along the chess board, we've seen this kind of thing in free agency in years but this is a high stakes one because its Anthony Davis....

What will be interesting to me is how much is Danny Ainge going to convey to New Orleans, how specific he's going to have to be between now and the trade deadline to hold off, I mean this is such a unique circumstance because if you're New Orleans you know who you want in that deal, you want Jayson Tatum in that deal and Boston is still trying to win a championship this year, they're still focused on trying to get this team together, get Gordon Hayward right and the idea that you would have an understanding with a team with months left in the season that you're going to put a star in a deal and keep it quiet and make sure he (player) doesn't find out, remember Jayson Tatum and Kyrie Irving are both represented by the same agent Jeff Wexler and I can't imagine it going that way, I think what Ainge is going to tell them and what they are telling them is, we are open to anything, we are going to have the best offer and in the end if Boston doesn't have the best offer, guess what the Lakers offer isn't really going to change...

The Pelicans are watching, Dell Demps and his front office team are watching the Lakers team over the last month without LeBron James, you got a window into what your team might look like and it's not pretty, there were some moments but you are not getting back one star there is not a star player among them."

What I find fascinating about these statements from Woj and they are statements (Woj is almost always neutral) is that there is zero mention of this on ESPN's website or on their youtube page. This tells me that ESPN doesn't like this narrative and are trying to push any type of controversy they can to squeeze every ounce of content in this story that they can.

ESPN are the biggest front runners in the world.  They always want to be the first one to break a story and then spin it to however they want.  Every time someone went against this narrative that they want to perpetuate they’ve either ignored them or deflected it to some other point that underscores their rumor mongeri g.  It’s disgusting journalism and they’ve been like this for a while.  They use to never talk bout the man champions only how lebron lost.  They’re pathetic.

It really makes ZERO sense to trade with LA right now for NO...Imagine if you make a deal this week and you get stuck with Laker garbage, while Tatum and Brown Shine big time in the playoffs.

Plus, you need to know how the Lottery shakes out, before you give up the best player you've ever had.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

Is Woj’s podcast espn though? I would’ve assumed that was his own podcast. He works for espn though and his views don’t reflect the network. Right?

This is extremely sound logic btw and I’m fairly confident (as I was weeks ago) that AD isn’t moving by the trade deadline. Let NOP tank and get the best pick they can and then they’ll play the market come July

Woj is right: Without LeBron for the past month, the Lakers have looked bad. Because they are bad. They have no stars, just a couple of better-than-expected lower draft picks and worse-than-expected high draft picks. Randle and Russell might've been their two best picks and that's who the Lakers traded away, which is pretty funny.

But yeah, Boston is New Orleans' best hope for a trade partner, and L.A.'s schlock will still be available if Boston doesn't pan out.

And Kyrie ain't going nowhere.

They're not getting a good pick without extreme luck and they'd be diminishing what they want to convey in the trade.  So their package would still suck compared to a package that BOS could offer if you're the Pels AND the Pels don't want to deal with LAL anyhow. OTOH, the Pels might just want to get rid of the problem now (not the PR front they're projecting) or they don't think the Cs would add Tatum (I wouldn't and I still think the Cs would have the best package).

Agree. I think they want to finish worse than Kings.
