If we lose out on Davis and Kyrie, we still have a great team.

Tatum, Brown, Horford, Rozier(maybe), Smart, Hayward, and Williams, plus all our first round picks.

We are well positioned no matter what happens

We would have a good, solid team. Not great, unless Tatum turns into that PG/KD type wing, and Brown does similarly
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

it would truly depend on who else we could court in free agency in the absence of Kyrie

Or if another star becomes available

That would be the team where we all thought we would be moving forward with before the sudden IT4-Kyrie trade.

And since Rozier wants his minutes and start, he'd get his wish. Now we just need Hayward to be like his vintage Jazz days and this team will be solid.

Thank you.

I am so tired of every fretting over Kyrie and Davis.

Absolutely. That's why I do prefer a trade for Davis (since then we instantly are at the Warriors level), but not at all cost. Tatum+Brown is a nono. I'm willing to give up Tatum and draft picks, which is a big haul. We're not depleting a team just to get Davis.

Our future is great, no matter what happens. The Celtics have the most talent and the most assets in the league. Danny Ainge has been a master.

Good perspective, Chris 22. Makes me feel better this morning.

Hope the players just focus on this season, to go as far as they can, without distractions. There’s roster turnover every year; look what happened two seasons ago when we only returned 4-5 players.

That isn’t a great team. They become the Hawks from a few years back. But some people call that great so...

100% agree. But the greed in me still wants something for Kyrie if we know he's going.

*I doubt we know though

It’s a great team but not one that will be able to compete with the juggernauts that are being formed with all this star player movement.

It would be like last year where a lot of folks didn’t care about losing kyrie and Hayward bc we weren’t gonna be able to beat Golden State anyway

Yeah, losing a superstar level player for nothing can be pretty disasterous for a franchise. I really just hope he re-signs for the max and if he demands a trade later, then fine. I just hope he doesn’t walk in FA.

Great?? No.

BUT, it could be a lot worse. A Rozier/Smart/Brown/Tatum/Hayward/Williams is a solid core. They’d have some cap flexibility and some draft picks to figure it as well assuming no other main star type targets.

who is they ? On what planet is new Orleans accepting haywards abysmal contract? On what galaxy are we trading both tatum+brown?  How do we trade rozier if it has to be a sign and trade?
