Reporting with @ZachLowe and @RamonaShelburne: In meeting with management today, Knicks forward Kristaps Porzingis expressed his concern with the losing, franchise direction and an uncertainty that a culture is developing that will enable sustainable organizational success.

KP has always been vocal about his displeasure about playing in a terrible franchise with no direction. Grabbing Knox was a good move, but Frank doesn't seem like he is gonna pan out. Hardaway is an average shooter with nothing else to show for, no play making, inefficient scorer, and this year he's shooting a dreadful 34.8%. You know the funny thing about THJ, is that people gloat and boast about his shooting prowess, but he's only hit past league average twice. His career average is 34% from 3P. That isn't good at all.

Mudiay was a nice pick up, but what is his future realistically?

The Knicks like the Bucks, and I remember someone here posted earlier about the Bucks long term vision, trading away draft picks, and recklessly losing everything for nothing; are literally following in their footsteps. Except Bucks got super lucky with Giannis, and are lucky to have convinced Budenholzer to come over and coach. (Fairweatherfan?)

They better pray Zion pans out, or RJ/Reddish works with their system. They desperately need help at literally every position except 4/5. (Really high on Mitchell Robinson, but I don't think his ceiling is as high as people think it is.)

Being a New York native, it's always depressing to see my Giants stink every year. Mets are on the right path, but the Knicks were a franchise that I always HATED watching as a youngster. It's always surprising to me how dysfunctional of a franchise the Knicks have been, and honestly they really have nothing to show for their past few years of being a terrible team.

Kristaps should be Plan B if trading for AD doesn't pan out for whatever reason.

Might be able to trade for Kristaps without giving up Tatum.

Same here, I'm okay with either. But I believe KP will be perfect in our team, especially since his length/shooting would make Stevens drool.

Only worried about KP's shot range, and his inability to pass out of double teams.

And Kyrie is going to bolt to play in NYC? Give me a break. That franchise is utter garbage.

Agreed, has he already signed an extension?

Kristaps Porzingis left the Knicks with the impression that he prefers to be traded, league sources tell @ramonashelburne and me. Knicks are expected to commence discussions on moving him ahead of next Thursday's deadline.

Holy smokes. He basically asked for a trade. This is big news. And a massive kick to the nuts of the Knicks.

The Lakers should read the writing on the wall, and give up on Davis. Use their assets for KP instead.

Haha.

They just offered Ingram, Ball, Kuzma, and Zubac plus a 1st rounder for AD LOL.

Well, do we give up on AD given his prohibitive cost and uncertainty and instead aim for Porzingis?

If we can get him without Tatum and he looks to have made a good recovery, this might not be a bad idea.

EDIT: What would it take beyond Rozier and some picks (Sac and/or Mem) to get Porzingis? Not sure of his value.

The Knicks organization has been terrible but I can't help but point towards the situation in Golden State as the main reason behind the high number of disgruntled "Superstars" throughout the league.  We've reached a point where it's impossible to build a true contender without 3+ All-Stars.  It says a lot that KP isn't willing to wait things out until free agency.  Players know they need to force the issue or else they will be stuck on a team that has no chance to contend.

I find this more frustrating than the AD situation, mainly because AD got through most of his restricted FA max contract.  Oh well, this is what we can expect going forward.
