I voted 'No' but here's my bold prediction.

He's not coming to Boston (sadly). BUT he's also not going to LA. This summer, I think he may end up going to another team but hopefully it's not TOR/MIL/PHI. Maybe a dark horse team like NYK or WAS come in. Clippers even? (Trade for AD + sign 1 more max guy)

AD said he wants championships, not money.
He's not going to get that in NYK or WAS.

I think it's LA if the trade happens on or before the trade deadline.

But if AD is still a Pelican after the trade deadline, you know he's going to Boston in the summer of 2019.

It's not a secret that Ainge has been targeting AD for years now.

Yeah, this is pretty much where I’m at. AD has been Danny’s man since Day 1, and I think he’s willing to pay to get him, so long as NOLA waits.

Woj and Haynes says Davis only wants LA though, so Lakers could still pursue him in the summer.

From what I see, there's just no way NOLA will not wait for the 2019 Memphis pick, 2019 Kings pick, Jayson Tatum, and other pieces that they could get from the Celts.

The 2019 Memphis pick alone is worth a lot, if it doesn't convey this year.

And as long as the Kings don't make the playoffs, the 2019 Kings pick is a lottery pick.

No other team has more to offer than the Celts.

He could also be pursued by the Clippers this summer (another LA team). Something that is often overlooked is that Jerry West and the Clippers may be planning big things this off-season, whether it's signing 1-2 max players or trading for a star + signing another. And you're right, the Lakers could obviously still pursue him this summer. But for one, I think the bidding war will make it a lot tougher for them especially if some teams do well in the draft lottery (like NYK). And frankly I actually think the Pelicans are trying to avoid dealing him to LAL. They do seem irked about the situation. Why else would they release what they did in their statement yesterday? And my last point, I don't think Ball and Ingram have as much value as folks think. That does make a big difference in trade negotiations. Unless PHI enter and add Simmons to the table (or NYK with Porzingis + Top-3 pick), then Tatum is the best quality piece NOP can get for AD this summer.

The bright side of not getting AD is Celts keeping the 2019 Kings pick and 2019 Memphis pick.

Nobody expected Jayson Tatum would be this good.
That's why he only went 3rd in the 2017 draft.

AD has more to lose if he ends up in LA.

Lebron will be 35 years old when next season starts.
This season, Lebron already has missed a lot of games due to injury.
Like Shaq said, nobody beats Father Time.

There's a bigger chance of the Celts winning a championship in the next 5 years even without AD.

But I doubt AD would win a championship with the Lakers if the Lakers gut the team for AD and AD and Lebron are left with veteran minimum guys.

I will say no. Think like many other guys he gets his way and forces himself to LA. Boston then uses picks in the draft to keep building.

Kyrie is seriously considering reuniting with LeBron, and as for Davis Celtics won't get him unless they trade Kyrie and roll with Rozier as the PG.

Toronto right now is the betting favorites to land Davis and it's no surprise because they got nice young pieces on amazing deals and the trade would be centered around Pascal Siakam.

Let's be clear on one thing... Players can say they won't resign or whatever anywhere else but they almost never get traded to the team they want history as shown...

Davis + Kawhi combo and Lowry as a third option would pretty much guarantee Toronto a trip to the finals and Davis said he doesn't mind going to a contending team.

Bucks are also reportedly interested

I am sick about the prospect of AD joining Lebron on the Lakers, so I am developing nice rationalizations to combat my misery.  My favorite is that the Pels only have to look at the lottery-level ability of the Lakers in Lebron's absence to see how bad the Pels will be when they trade for Ball, Ingram and Kuzma -- and their worthless draft picks.  They'll be young and bad with only their own picks to provide any hope of landing a top player.

Tatum, Sac and Memphis picks, and an aggressive young veteran like Smart (on a great contract) has got to look more promising even before looking at the possibility of adding Brown or sweetening the deal with Bob.

no tell n if he makes it past the trade deadline .

As i look a t Philly this year .....it seems with Bron on that team , they re a near lock for EC finals .  They would be 2-3 in the WC i would think.

if basketball was what mattered ....he is golden with Philly ...unless the owners and mgmt were too strong to let HIS CAMP take over control.   But ultimately its about Bron and his agent raiding teams for the best players to make the most money . No scrupples manipulation of weak minded players and Front Offices .

Uh, what guys are you talking about? In the last two seasons, literally two MVP-level guys in George and Leonard did NOT get their wish for LA. Before that, roughly a half dozen big free agents said no to the Lakers in free agency. 34 year old Lebron is literally the only significant guy they’ve got in a long while.
