Wiggins possibly. KAT not so much. Since the Butler trade, he is looking as good as ever. I'd be over the moon if we somehow traded for KAT though.

Hey ruined Butlers value the Wolves ownership wasn't happy about that they should have gotten a better deal and they've been below average thibbs sucks.

Wolves ownership seems to be the problem.  Long before Thibs came to Minnesota have the T-Wolves been a trash team.  I think this decision will continue to reflect how poorly Glen Taylor has managed this team and its personnel relations.  Anyone who takes this head coaching job must be a complete fool or desperate to get into the NBA (see Fred Hoiberg with the Bulls when he stepped on that landmine).

Personally speaking, I like the Butler trade for the Wolves. Never liked it for the Sixers. Both Butler and Simmons need the ball in their hands in order to maximize their effectiveness on offense. Don't see this ending well. Imo, they need to surround Simmons with players who thrive playing off the ball. Guys like Redick for instance who are knock down shooters. Remember last season when the Sixers signed Belinelli + Ilyasova via the buyout market? That's when they started playing their best basketball. Butler can do a little bit of everything, but he wants the offense to run through himself and he ain't a knock down shooter.

Regarding Thibs, my take is that he was burning out his best players. All of the starters were playing ridiculous minutes. What was that about? I mean, last season the Wolves had an 8-man rotation in early December or something!

KAT last season 35.6 mins per game. 37 mins per game the season before that.
Wiggins 36.3 last season and 37.2 the season before.

Thibs style is outdated in today’s NBA.

Nah, the owner has committed to them. Crappy organizations ultimately come down to the guy at the top and the T-Wolves have been crappy ever since KG left and the same guy is signing the paychecks.

Fred Hoiberg is the leading candidate?  I'd rather have Thibs.

On the other hand, Thibs record as a personnel guy has been, to put it mildly, underwhelming.  Right now they lack depth on their roster - thanks in part to the original Butler trade.  Would you rather have what they have now or Lavine and Markkanen on your roster?

I dunno... Butler has always been a pretty toxic guy. If anything - he revealed the risks in taking Butler.

I think Covington is one of the most underrated players in the league. Cost controlled for another 4 years. Just what they need.

Saric has another year after this, and still has room to grow. Admittedly, Saric has been a little quiet - but that has more to do with their decision to play through KAT and Wiggins (who has been on fire lately).

Ultimately, Thibs traded La Vine for Covington and Saric. That's a plus.

He is not the guy who will take you to a championship though.

Well, not quite. I'd pretty easily choose Dunn, Markannen and LaVine over Covington and Saric.

The owner talking directly with other GM's saying 'we're trading butler' definetley didn't help the situation. Put thibs in a difficult spot to find fair trade value. Considering this and jimmy's egotistical outbursts free agency, they did pretty well in the trade.

Trading FOR jimmy was a risk, but they did reach the playoffs for the first time in years. Adding a two way allstar to play with your two 20+ PPG max contract  players doesn't seem so illogical.

Unusual timing. After a win (2 in a row) and Minny is 15-12 after the trade???

Apparently there’s a season ticket campaign that hasn’t been going well, and fans allegedly aren’t excited about Thibs.  Attendance has dropped from something like 21st to 29th.

They dropped from #7 to #16 so to be complete you should add Patton.
