@ShamsCharania
Sources: Washington Wizards guard John Wall is considering surgery on his injured left heel, which would sideline him six-to-eight months.

@wojespn
Wizards star John Wall is planning to undergo season-ending surgery on his left heel, league sources tell @WindhorstESPN and me. Doctors have recommended that he undergo the surgery soon.

It's not like the Wizards are playing for anything the rest of the way this season. It makes a lot of sense both for him and the organization to undergo surgery now and give him the best chance at recovering for next season and beyond.

It is also evident that nobody was going to trade for him anyway.

Well, this part is the issue and now officially dead.

The Wizards could've always traded him to the Suns for example. Wall for Anderson and a protected future 1st would've gotten the Wizards out of that horrendous contract and given them a future asset too.

The Suns have been looking for a PG and since they don't play in a major market adding a "star" is tough. Enter Wall, who may not play like a star, but adding him to a young core of Booker, Ayton, Bridges, Jackson, and a likely top 5 pick this summer would be enticing.

The Suns are definitely not playing for anything this season, so they could still trade for him if they want to. They could probably get a better deal with the Wizards now that he's injured.

I like Wall, bad contract aside. I’d love to see him eventually end up in San Antonio or another functional franchise.

Really? Why? The Wizards seem to play better when he's off the floor because the ball starts moving more. In addition to him pounding the ball, he's a non-shooter that hurts their spacing, his defense is non-existent, and his energy is sporadic.

Classic Wall focus and effort...

I expect them to make the playoffs without him.  :P
