I am trying not to criticize Brown since i have already said alot and is running out of words but man..what are you doing?

Detail:Brown try to make a steal which he is never going to get, ending up trail behind and after the ball has been passed he only slowly jogging at Rivers, make Theis the only player in Rivers' way (Theis got step on the shoe and let Rivers pass by)

Tatum is covering his man, staying infront, and when he saw Rivers going he rushed at Rivers(but he didn't have the angle to do a good contest) and Hayward cover up for Tatums man, Rozier protect the paint

If only Brown rushed at Rivers(or should i say if he has any intention to stop him) he can have blocked that shot from behind easily

It's last year playoffs Bucks G1 all over again, no fire, no urgency, no BBALLIQ

Not trying to stop middleton getting the ball and not try hard to contest at all(whats that small lazy jump?)

Smart has to wave his hand several times in order for Brown to slowly go up to cover Reddick, Thankfuly Simmos is also lazy to inbound the ball or it will be a Reddick buzzer beater attempt

Brad mentioned in an interview after the first quarter that he told them not to foul.

What the flagnogg?

You have to foul to play good defense. What ever happened to "No Layups?"

The refs didn't even allow us to defend Harden behind the 3 point line, they called a foul every time our guys just put a hand up on D. Based on that, I'd expect that if any of our guys fouled to prevent layups they'd be tossed immediately.

Defense is not allowed anymore in the modern NBA.

For somebody trying hard not to criticize Brown you are trying pretty hard to criticize Brown. I honestly have no problem with what Brown did in either case. The Middleton shot he played it perfectly. Guy is 10 feet behind the line, Brown is very close to him and goes straight up so as not to risk a foul. Guy made a shot. Not much you  can do there. In the second case Brown should have stayed in front of his man, but there is no way he "can block that from behind easy," you are far more likely to foul a guy by running into him when he pulls up, and again Tatum is right on his shooting hand and the guy made a tough shot. It happens. Brown has been bad enough this year that you really don't have to go making up mistakes too.

1.I don't even know if you are serious
2.How about jump a little higher?
3.Not if you are taller and longer than him and you know approximate when and where he has to shoot

Tatum is out of position so he can't make a good contest, but at least he tried his best

It's hilarious lol. Dozens of bonehead plays by many of the players every game, every quarter, but he chooses to create a thread about this lol. Truly it is a joke.

It drives me crazy when there's very little time at the end of a quarter and we don't bother playing defense until the ball is near the half court line and allow the other team an opportunity. Why? Why not press full court to make it almost impossible for these end of quarter prayer shots that always seem to go in against us. C'mon man. Play freakin' defense.

Wasn't Jaylen guarding the inbounder?  I suppose that its unlikely he can get the ball back and a shot off in that time frame, but if Jaylen did double someone and the inbounder did pull of a play to score, I get the feeling you'd be all over him for that decision too.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism

He clearly didn't watch the game last night. I mentioned this in the game thread last night, but I knew Jaylen would take heat for his -22 even though he was clearly the best player on the floor when he was out there (with the 2nd unit, not with Kyrie). Offensively and defensively, Jaylen was on point last night - personally I was very encouraged by what I saw from him!

As for this thread, it just seems kind-of foolish to point something like this out. There were like 2.4 seconds left on the clock and Rivers had to go full court to even get a decent shot off. With so little time, nobody should have really been guarding anybody else but Rivers. Sorry Brown didn't 'easily' block Rivers shot from behind - like that is so easy to do.
