Kobe made headlines yesterday by saying that soon Laker fans will be ďlaughing at Warriors fansĒ and that Los Angeles will win a title before they know it. It almost seems like every week one of Kobeís idiotic comments will leap in to the headlines and will be picked apart and analyzed by first take - and this is one of the few ones that actually isnít about his legacy or impact on the game. Iíve never seen an ex player desperately try to cling to the spotlight as much as this guy whether heís on sportscenter promoting his tell all book which was released about 10-15 years too prematurely. With Kobe itís never been a LeBron type situation where I dislike him, but respect him. Iíve just always thought the guy was a complete narcissistic megalomaniac.

And as far as these recent comments go, heís just plain wrong. The Lakers arenít in that good of a situation. Sure, they have possibly the greatest player ever, but heís far and away the best player on the team at age 35. Their young guys are good, not great. And they donít have anyone else on big or expiring contracts to match salaries on a trade for a star. They can probably be outbid in such trades by at least a handful of teams such as the Celtics. Sure they have cap space but I donít really see what makes LA all that of a desirable destination for upcoming free agents like Durant and Kawhi who would both be leaving better situations to play there. Sorry Kobe, but the warriors will reign supreme in the West for years to come, and the Fakers will never surpass or even tie the Celtics in overall title count.
Two choices - the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. The pain of regret hurts a whole lot more.

Donít think so. Durant recently called the environment currently surrounding LeBron as ďtoxic.Ē

But who knows, Durant seems like the most disingenuous dude ever who would change his mind on a dime. Remember he was bashing LeBron and Bosh for joining Wade in Miami and taking the easy way out? LOL.

Perk, regardless of what you think of him as a person,  I struggle to understand why you would not respect Kobe as a player.

That stuff seems pretty strongly worded in the article. I think going to New York and costarring with Leonard or butler or (gasp) Irving would be more his speed

I haven't really thought about it. I don't take his comments about "Lakers fans will soon be laughing at Warriors fans" very seriously.

Warriors have a better chance of winning a couple more rings before the Lakers even sniff the finals.

Yes, and please stay out of Tatum's way!  Tatum has been shooting Kobe mid-ranger hero ball jumpers ever since he worked with Kobe this summer.
LA Clippers: Sam Dekker, Patrick Beverley, DeAndre Jordan, Lou Williams, Montrezl Harrell, Austin Rivers, Wesley Johnson, Brice Johnson, Danilo Gallinari, Milos Teodosic, Jawun Evans, Blake Griffin, Sindarius Thornwell, Willie Reed, C.J. Williams, Tyrone Wallace

Absolutely.  Tatum was on pace to be the next evolution of Klay Thompson and after training with Kobe (and being the subject of one of his evaluation videos)  Tatum's game has gotten less efficient and less team oriented.
