It's frustrating to see the Kings win but when the season starts to settle in I think that pick ends up in the top ten. I expect the clippers and grizzlies to make the playoffs, but won't do as well the entire season as they're doing now.
so lets say the Kings pick is 8th, Grizzlies pick is 18th, Clippers pick is 21st, our pick is 25th.
which 4 prospects do you think the Celtics can come away with?
My ideal scenario...
8th - Kevin Porter Jr. USC. so good at creating space, smooth lefty with shades of Harden in his game. I don't think his ceiling is quite that high, but I view his floor is a Kelly Oubre type guy. The 5-10 range in this draft isn't very good..Celtics may try to trade out for a guy who can contribute right away.
18th - Charles Bassey. Western Kentucky. Bassey has drawn comparisons to LaMarcus Aldridge/Al Horford. It's yet to be seen if he can extend his range out to the 3 point line, but if he can then watch out, NBA. Still raw and would probably get the Robert Williams treatment his first season, but I can really see him blossoming in to a great, mobile big.
21st - Jaylen Hands. UCLA. The upside is too good to pass up at this point in the draft. This could be a swing for the fences Fab Melo type pick, but if it works out then you're getting a guy who could potentially fill Roziers spot, and may even surpass him as a player. Scouts are impressed with Hands improved shooting mechanics, and he's shooting 40% from deep this year.
25th - Jalen McDaniels. San Diego St. McDaniels is as versatile of a forward as you will find in this draft. His sophomore stats at SDS mirror that of Kawhi Leonards 2nd year stats. Of course im getting carried away with my comparisons here, but that's what I do when I see the Celtics sitting with 4 picks in a deep draft with Dannys draft history
