Toucher and Rich just tweeted out that Mike Gorman signed another 3 year deal with NBC Sports Boston

Looks like he's not going anywhere for a while!
I'm bitter.

Not to be sacrilegious here, but I'm really enjoying Kyle Draper and Scal doing the broadcasts together.  More so than Mike and Tommy/Scal.

Don't get me wrong, I love Mike and Tommy, but I've personally been listening to them for 20+ years now.  I like Mike and Scal too, but the chemistry's not great.

I think Kyle and Scal work really well together, great chemistry, friendly banter, they're making jokes with each other.

Ya I think I'd rather listen to Kyle and Scal.  (Though would also love something like Mike and Tommy doing home games, Kyle and Scal doing away games, best of both worlds).

Have to disagree. I feel like I'm watching a high school game. Listening to Draper yelling bang when a shot is made, or worse yet, when it's missed. I get no feeling he knows what he's talking about.

Really miss Gorman. Tommy not so much. Scal hot or cold.

agreed.  understand that Mike deserves a little time off occasionally but if anything, this break has shown how far superior he is to any other play-by-play guy in the NBA

Same.  Horrible to listen to.

The best sequence was Brad Stevens giving Drapes a look for saying that Jaylen's alley oop attempt was still a high light dunk even though he missed it.

David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels

They have to start planning on a legitimate Gorman replacement. Scal replacing Tommy is ok, but you need someone like Gorman to balance him out or else it’s a disaster. Scal goes off the rails when he’s calling the games with Draper.

I've move Grande from radio to TV in that instance.

Move Grande and Max together. Great chemistry. Scal can do radio with the guy who subbed for Grande earlier this season. Can't recall his name, but he did a nice job.

Of course not until Tommy and Mike are ready to move on.

I think Scal and Draper are sometimes hilarious. They bust each other's chops continually. And do a decent job doing the game. It must be difficult taking the place of Mike Gorman, even for a game or two. The guy is a seasoned pro.

Agree.  Give Grande and Max the TV gig when Tommy and Mike are done...hopefully not for a long time...

Not a fan of Scal/Draper as announcers.  Don't hate them, but not unique enough...their banter to me is...repetitive.

Draper's problem is he focuses so much in getting a yuckfest going with Scal that he misses key parts of the game.  For example there was zero discussion as it was happening of the impact starting Smart had on their first period defensive focus - which has been a huge problem all season.

Scal occasionally tells you something you don't know and will provide an insight or two that only someone who's played or coached in the league would be capable of doing, but he still talks way too much to the point of being annoying.

Can't wait for Mike to come back.  I'd also like to see them give Max some reps on TV.  He's pretty good with Grande.

Yeah, my biggest problem with Draper is that he seems to get too caught up in banter with Scal and misses entire sequences on the floor which is frustrating when you're a viewer.   When you're doing play by play, make sure you're actually calling it.

I like that idea. Grande and Max are great, excellent balance between the two of them.

I think they said Gorman was on vacation during the road trip. Scal said something along the lines of "Mike's 1st vacation in like 35 years" during the Atlanta game.

I too like Gorman and am not a fan of Scalabrine. He's just too much of a goofball and can't take him seriously.

Gorman and Tommy do have the perfect chemistry.

I am also not a fan of Grande. He comes off as having an ego. I personally enjoyed Kyle Draper. He just needs to polish up his announcing a bit, but I think he's pretty good.
