Personally speaking, I 'd rather the C's stayed away from Wall/Beal.

Kyrie > Wall
Beal ain't a good fit salary-wise

How about Porter though?

https://basketball.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/7133294

Boston in : Porter + Markieff Morris + Troy Brown (#15 last June) + Washington 2019 first (hopefully unprotected 8))

Washington in : Hayward + Yabu + Bird (we cannot trade him till December 15)

Alternatively we could ask for Satoransky instead of Troy Brown. Thing is, Satoransky is gonna hit free agency next summer whereas Brown is on a team friendly contract till 2022. Obviously, Satoransky is NBA-ready. Brown may prove to be the better player going forward.

What do you guys think?

15-man roster after the trade

Irving - Smart - Wanamaker
Brown - Rozier - Satoransky/Troy Brown
Porter - Marcus - Ojeleye
Tatum - Markieff - Theis
Horford - Baynes - Williams

For what it's worth, I don't think the C's would do it. Chances are that CBS would rather keep Hayward. Not sure I'd do it either. Just thowing out an idea for discussion.

As for the Wizards, I bet they 'd probably do it without the pick. Not sure whether they 'd be willing to sacrifice their pick though.

True that. Problem is, the Wiz would never trade Beal for Hayward. Can't think of a realistic way to trade for Beal. Unless perhaps we offer them Hayward + the Kings pick?

Boston in : Beal
Washington in : Hayward + 2019 Kings first

(or something along those lines)

Again, not sure whether I'd do it. Just thowing out ideas for discussion.

As things stand right now, I would argue Hayward is on a bad contract as well.

When healthy, Hayward is worth his money. He is coming back from injury. Otto Porter even if he is healthy is not worth his contract.

What the heck is with this board's infatuation for Otto Porter?

People already claimed that he was going to get the max, and that was going to be overpaid. Same logic applies to Khris Middleton, and Tobias Harris, but at least those two are playing perfectly at their situation as the 2nd/3rd banana.

Otto Porter is not only regressed offensively, but defensively.

Porter ain't no scrub either. He is one of the deadliest 3-point shooters in the NBA. The Wizards are in a mess right now. It's only logical to assume that Porter would thrive under CBS' system.

So... where would he fit on our roster?

This logic... mind boggling.

Starting SF/PF next to Tatum.

Kyrie
Brown
Porter
Tatum
Horford

He doesn't need the ball in his hands on offense --> more freedom for Brown to thrive as a slasher

The way I see it, unless we trade Hayward + pick(s) for Beal (which seems unlikely from the Wiz point of view cause Hayward would be a bad fit next to Porter), there is no realistic way to trade for Beal. The luxury tax would go through the roof.

2019-20 salaries

Hayward $32,700,690
Kyrie $32,700,000 (cap projected to be $109 million, 8-year veteran --> 30% of the cap)
Horford $30,123,015
Beal $27,093,018

The 2019-20 luxury tax threshold is projected to be $132 million.

I just don't see Wyc paying $122,616,723 for 4 players.

There is no way you can trade Hayward and then only get back Porter.  None at all.

I do like Porter and would be happy to acquire him in January when Smart can be traded.  Porter has been criminally underutilized in Washington.

Who said ''trade Hayward and then only get back Porter''?

Washington in : Hayward + Yabu + Bird (we cannot trade him till December 15)

Anyway, I edited the title and added a reference to Morris as well.

Didn't know about that. In any case, we can always persuade him to waive it. 8)

I mean, Kyrie had a trade kicker as well and he waived it prior to the trade. Obviously, it's not the same situation, cause Kyrie wanted to leave Cleveland. Just saying that Porter can waive the bonus if he wants to facilitate a trade.

TP for the Beal/Hayward trade idea.

In a vacuum, I do that trade in less than a heartbeat.

In Beal you get the younger player (only 25, not 26 till June), deadlier scorer and  the more confident player, which we need badly right now. He also rebounds ok for his position (4.7) and has about 4 assists per game.

Hayward looks like he is playing scared. Given his horrific injury, that's not being judgmental nor is it not understandable. Given the player Hayward is right now, heck even given that he gets back to 80-90% of his former self this year, you have to do that trade. Don't know if Wiz do it, but I'd do it.....in a vacuum.

We are not in a vacuum however. To trade Hayward right now, after we (Stevens, esp) wooed him to sign here, and he has a horrible injury, looks REAL REAL bad. To Stevens, to the other players on the team and to the NBA players who might choose/maneuver to play here.

Id love that trade, though.

EDIT: Maybe a way to keep the Sac pick and keeping with the theme of the thread of reuniting the twins:

To Boston: Beal, Morris

To Wash: Hayward, Rozier
