When Koby Altman was dealing with the trade request of Kyrie Irving, he asked LeBron James if he would commit to the franchise long-term if Irving was not traded. James said that he wouldn't commit to that stipulation.

James was adamant that the Cavaliers not trade Irving, especially not to the Boston Celtics.

The Cavaliers traded Irving to the Celtics and James signed with the Los Angeles Lakers on July 1, 2018.

Lebrons nightmare scenario happened lol. I actually wonder if Gilbert purposely did this to spite Lebrons non-commitment to the Cavs

Oh my God can we just stop talking about this? No one cares anymore.. Like Kyrie said, it's a distant memory.

I love how Lebron was making demands but refused to make any commitments himself if they met his demands

Yeah, Gilbert seems like a POS but I don't blame him for not capitulating with no assurances.

LeBUM wouldn't commit to the Cavs so they wouldn't commit to his demands.  Can't blame Gilbert or the Cavs one bit.  And free agents all asked LeBUM for the previous 2 or 3 years, what are you going to do next year?  And he'd never commit and they'd never come.  I hope LeBUM gets the karma he deserves.

It's impressive how hard LBJ's PR team works to spin the narratives. Nothing is ever his fault, everyone else is to blame.

I think he might be kind of over trying to win championships. Otherwise he'd have stayed in the east.  I think his take is if he gets competitive team, great, go for it. If not, he'll build his business interests in LA, play long enough to become the all time leading scorer, and call it a career having achieved everything you possibly can in the sport.

nothing about that is new information.  James was vocal about his dislike of the trade all last year.

Don't worry, LeBron.

Kyrie "Little Mountain" Irving will be a BIG obstacle in the way of the Lakers' championship aspirations.

Your former star teammate will be here - in BOS - standing in the Lakers way.

As it should be.

17 > 16

18 > 16

19 > 16

and NO, Laker Fans - you CANNOT claim "The Saint Louis Gems" Championship as your 17th Championship, LOOOOL...you are stuck ETERNALLY on 16.

I doubt Boston stands in the way of LA only because I don't think LA makes it out of the west anytime soon.  I'm not even sure they make it out of the west if they sign Durant next summer (though they would be the favorites).

What do you expect, we blocked him quite a bit early in his career with the Big Three.
