we do not need more glamour stars - we need to keep our hard working rotational guys. they are often the difference in a championship team.
We definitely need more grit. I think that’s something that is a key difference between us and some GSW teams. They’ve always had Draymond + a big rim protector, Bogut being the most noteworthy of those.

Draymond himself is one of the great rim-protectors.
'I was proud of Marcus Smart. He did a great job of keeping us together. He might not get credit for this game, but the pace that he played at, and his playcalling, some of the plays that he called were great. We obviously have to rely on him, so I’m definitely looking forward to Marcus leading this team in that role.' - Jaylen Brown, January 2021

No doubt, but the combination of defence and passing that he and Bogut possessed was awesome, and IMO my favourite Warriors team

Why would the Lakers do this? They refused to give up Ingram for PG13 and Butler but they will for Morris?

This is a 2K trade, not in the sphere of reality.

How about trade Curry for Kawhi and OG?
Or Ayton for Markanen?
Yup, no way in happens even though their on-court values might be comparable.

Furthermore, every trade between these teams (46% of all championships won) is a huge gamble for their respective front offices.

I don't understand you desire to trade the players that are going to lead this team to the Finals and maybe a title this year, KGLL. Morris has been our best player this year. He probably is leading the way for 6th Man of the Year. Why are we trading him for a lesser player?

Come on Nick. I understand your desire to win it all this year. Sure I would love to. I'd put the odds at 20% chance we can beat a healthy warriors team.

Being a GM is hard especially right now for the Celtics. Nick you must know that Ingram could be a superstar in the league. Or he may never be as good as Morris is right now.

I'll take that chance as a player like Ingram could put us over the top in two years, that's when I believe the Warriors window closes.

You may not agree with me but that makes sense right Nick. And TP for the healthy debate.
KGLL, this is a good trade in a vacuum. Much like your proposed trade of Kyrie in the other thread was a great trade in a vacuum. But real life trades have a ton of context. And they need two teams willing to make the trade because they feel it is in their team's best interest.

Boston has been 3-3 versus Golden State the last three years. Warrior players have been quoted that the team they worry about the most is Boston because of their length, athleticism, defensive intensity and having Kyrie, a player that beat them in game 7 of the Finals. Boston has an extremely good chance at a title this year so you don't make trades to bring in young, playoff unproven players while trading off a proven veteran playing at 6th Man of the Year quality.

And Morris is a free agent next year. Why do the Lakers make a trade for a veteran that will walk at season's end and a pick not likely to bring in a player of Ingram's quality? This makes no sense for LA or Boston when taken in real life context.

Boston will be going for a title this year and LA are going to keep Ingram and continue to develop him. You have to take that context into consideration when proposing these trade ideas. Real life just is not like NBA2K

Great minds think alike.

Kyrie to the Celtics was a 2K fantasy until it happened.

In a heartbeat, but if the Lakers are ready to cash in to get another star, they won't be targeting draft picks and a backup wing on an expiring contract.

Sorry, just don't see it.  I don't think Ingram is that good plus he plays the same position as Brown, Tatum, and Hayward.  I don't see the point or the need or the fit.

I’m assuming it’s our own first, because otherwise it would be specified.

My question is this: Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. WOULDN’T make this trade? Selling Morris at peak value for a stud on a rookie deal that would contribute similarly  already?  How is this poll not 100%?

Yeah, I mean I like Marcus Morris and everything and I don't especially love Ingram, but that is just crazy value for an expiring back-up player (on our team) who we likely won't re-sign. Don't worry, DA would be all over it. Heck, before the season we were talking about possibly trading Morris for cap space so we can get under the tax.

The Lakers say no before the end of the sentence.

I have to assume all the votes against it are only there because they know this is a terrible move for the Lakers. That's the only possible justification
