When LeBron and Magic hit the panic button. Would you do this deal? Would you include Rozier. It's a short sighted move for the Lakers, but LeBron is getting old.

Why would the Lakers ever consider such a deal?

I don't understand you desire to trade the players that are going to lead this team to the Finals and maybe a title this year, KGLL. Morris has been our best player this year. He probably is leading the way for 6th Man of the Year. Why are we trading him for a lesser player?

I want to respond to the heading of this post before I know who the poster is and before I read any of the responses.

Why would Boston do this? Ingram is terrible I would not trade Morris for him  straight up not to talk of adding a 1st.

Why would the Lakers ever consider such a deal?

Exactly.

I mean, wasn't the Lakers hesitant in giving Brandon Ingram for Kawhi Leonard, but we'll offer thm Marcus Morris?

They can keep Ingram ...not giving him up for Kawhi Leonard is no standard for judgment, Lakers believe they can get any FA for free.

Come on Nick. I understand your desire to win it all this year. Sure I would love to. I'd put the odds at 20% chance we can beat a healthy warriors team.

Being a GM is hard especially right now for the Celtics. Nick you must know that Ingram could be a superstar in the league. Or he may never be as good as Morris is right now.

I'll take that chance as a player like Ingram could put us over the top in two years, that's when I believe the Warriors window closes.

You may not agree with me but that makes sense right Nick. And TP for the healthy debate.

The reason they will consider deals for Ball and Ingram and not so much Kuzma is because LeBron is a Master of panic.

If word comes out that Kawhi is not coming to the Lakers a panic trade will happen.

KGLL, this is a good trade in a vacuum. Much like your proposed trade of Kyrie in the other thread was a great trade in a vacuum. But real life trades have a ton of context. And they need two teams willing to make the trade because they feel it is in their team's best interest.

Boston has been 3-3 versus Golden State the last three years. Warrior players have been quoted that the team they worry about the most is Boston because of their length, athleticism, defensive intensity and having Kyrie, a player that beat them in game 7 of the Finals. Boston has an extremely good chance at a title this year so you don't make trades to bring in young, playoff unproven players while trading off a proven veteran playing at 6th Man of the Year quality.

And Morris is a free agent next year. Why do the Lakers make a trade for a veteran that will walk at season's end and a pick not likely to bring in a player of Ingram's quality? This makes no sense for LA or Boston when taken in real life context.

Boston will be going for a title this year and LA are going to keep Ingram and continue to develop him. You have to take that context into consideration when proposing these trade ideas. Real life just is not like NBA2K

Yeah, they're not going to trade their best young player for an older player who isn't any better and a draft asset that is unlikely to ever become as good as the player they're letting go. Makes no sense for LA.

And I don't even think it makes the Celtics better right now, given that Ingram can't play the 4 like Morris does.

Yeah, if they wouldn't give him up to secure Kawhi, I don't see it happening for Morris. Even if they did decide to put Ingram on the table, there's dozens of better deals out there than Morris. Washington seems on the verge of collapse, they may very well be able to target Bradley Beal at some point soon. And of course, Anthony Davis is on everyone's radar. It'd be a really sell-low move on their part to move him for anything less than All-Star. A panic trade could happen, sure, but they've been significantly smarter with Magic and Pelinka in charge.

Never, ever going to happen but obviously we would do it. No first rounder would be off the table, including the Kings pick.
