It is tough to defend a guy who gets three steps and gets to change his pivot foot any time he wants.

While some of the things he does athletically are pretty ridiculous.... he does seem to get away with a couple illegal moves seemingly every game. I’ve never seen a player slide, drag, or flat out change his pivot foot and not get called for it as much as he does.

We won so what we did was good enough, I was impressed with how well we contained Middleton who was very dangerous last year in the playoffs.

I think he's the scariest opponent in the league now, so everyone should be concerned. Im more worried about them than Toronto. Leonard is playing at an all-NBA level and has the experience, but Giannis has more peak potential than even LeBron did. It is physical impossible to stay with his pivots, even when they are air tight and legal.

What impresses me the most is his natural sense of aggression and competitiveness. I think it separates him from Anthony Davis, who is as big and almost as athletic, but with more complete basketball skills. Giannis wants it, and it will not be easy to stop him from getting it.

I do think we are the best matchup against him, and Jaylen is crucial to that. Brown covers more perimeter space around the three point line than any defender in the league. When he's out, we just don't contest the same way. He's also the only guy we have that can compete athletically against him. The only way to slow Giannis down is to close up as much space as possible, and that takes lots of length.

We'll see how it goes. Right now, Giannis is right there at the top with a handful of other MVP candidates, but he's the one with the most potential to separate himself from the pack. History shows that when one guy is clearly better than everyone else, his team has a 50/50 chance or better of winning a title.

good win , Hayward looks well.  Good win without Brown who is good defending the tuff athletic matchups Bucks present.  Irving is coming around .  Baynes looks healthy again.  Celtics are coming together .   Alot of positive things to see during this game.

More than a couple!
Lebron is the only one that is worst. There is a video on YouTube where Lebron takes seven steps with only one dribble.

I want to see Robert Williams defend Giannis.

I was disappointed with the D on Giannis ......and Middleton.  Those guys kill us.  I watch the games and I just cannot understand how somebody's offense is 99% driving to the basket and he does it time after time after time.  The whole Giannis Show makes me sick.  99% of his game is driving to the basket, take 2 steps and get a stupid foul called.  I'll take watching a 3 pt show any day over this crap.

I wake up and in the middle of the night with nightmares of Middleton. I swear to god, he must shoot close to 70% from the field vs the Cs. Dude murders the Cs.

How did the defend Giannis? They didn't....They couldn't. No one can.

But we won the game. That was their gameplan. And I'm ok with that.

27ppg on .545 eFG% and 8.5 FT attempts last season. About the same so far this year.

He's so physically and athletically imposing, it's impossible. I think the Celtics did as well as can be expected. Hold him to his average and stop everyone else is usually a good strategy for these kinds of players. And by "these kinds" I mean people like Lebron, Shaq, and other physical freaks.

I just read this, this morning - it is a pretty good analysis of exactly my original question. What is interesting is that the Bucks were minus with Giannis on the court. Looks can be deceiving. Some nice videos here too:
