I can't see the Lakers costing like 3 million in salary next year and that doesn't even take into account they have no bad salaries they could even unload. That is of course if they were even interested, which I don't think they are at all. Of all of the potential Cavs to be traded, Thompson makes the most sense for them (the need some size), but again he is signed past this summer so they aren't ruining cap space for him.
The Lakers aren't going to do anything that adds salary next summer unless they acquire a legit star.
JR Smith is only tradeable in a trade where a worse contract comes back because he is essentially worthless as a player at this point.
