I get that CBS is probably experimenting with different lineups, especially since it’s early, but imo, it’s throwing guys off rhythm. We’re probably playing less than the sum of our parts (which is something u don’t really say about CBS teams). That said, how would u manage lineups and minutes splits moving forward?

Me, I think CBS needs to settle on which guys he wants to have the most burn, even if it comes at the expense of some of our heroes from yesteryear. I’m thinking something like:

Kyrie 32
Brown 34
Tatum 34
Hayward 32
Horford 30

Rozier 24
Baynes 20
Smart 20
Morris 14

Versus last year, I think the guys who should see their minutes decrease are really Smart and Morris. This is because of the talent ahead of them rather than because they’ve regressed. I think we’re better off playing Baynes more than either of them too just from a lineup perspective.

How about the rest of y’all?

Kyrie - 33
Brown - 30
Hayward - 33
Tatum - 33
Horford - 32

Smart - 23
Rozier - 23
Baynes - 18
Morris - 15

Is probably how I'd go. Ensure that 1 of Irving/Hayward/Tatum/Horford is on at all times. I don't like Rozier getting significantly more minutes than Smart, because I don't think he's significantly better. Both are stupid offensive players, but Rozier can hit his 3's

Smart and his defense would be great, especially for late in the games but agree with Rozier. I cringe every time Smart wants to take a 3. But the minutes for the rest of the guys should be somewhere around there.

Rozier ignoring open guys (who are better than him) and taking really contested runners next to Smart clanking every jumper he takes is just brutal.

Can sprinkle a bit of Theis in as well if need be

I thought about Theis too and with our wings loaded, if it would be better to play him over Morris. More because of fit rather than actual talent

Depends on the opponent to some extent.  There are clearly teams where Baynes makes more sense, but others where Morris should get a lot more minutes.  There are teams where Rozier and Smart shouldn't play much and other teams where they should get a lot more minutes.  The Tremendous 5 should all be in the 30-35 minute range, but it is really difficult to just set the bench as the match-ups really do matter a great deal.

Hmm. Have to spread it around and keep the key players happy. Best to start with a low ceiling across the board. 32 seems good, and makes easy math.

32 each to the starters, leaves
16 each to Smart, Morris, and Baynes, and
24 for Rozier, and
8 for either Theis or Semi.

Seems like reasonable averages. Who complains?

I keep the starters and use matchups and who is hot to set the minutes.   Note this could change due to the other team and who gets hot.

Brad needs to accept that he cannot keep everyone happy.  Our starters, maybe except Horford (because he is aging), need 32+ mins per game.  Everyone else's minutes depends on their performance game by game.  If Smart, for example, is launching stupid shots while Kyrie, Tatum, and Hayward are in the lineup, then stick him on the bench for bad decision making.  Same for Rozier, who has been playing with tremendous confidence but continues to have suspect decision making and is taking a lot of long, low% stepback 2's and 3's.  I don't care if one of our bench players who would normally get 20+ minutes, or more on a bad team, end up playing 10 mins.

Smart would definitely complain, considering he’s played 30mpg over the last 2 years
