yeah I have it for 360, and it is quite a solid game, my only complaint is with play calling, as you are somewhat limited to the number of plays you can use (4 beyond the basic ones), I end up using the pick and roll 90% of the time. Also where's BBD? Can you add a player once the season has started?

just get the online roster update, Big Baby is in it.

I still can't get enough of this game. I play a game a day, sometimes 2, and I've even gone 3-4 a couple times. I play 10 minute quarters, don't sim at all, and I only have two months remaining in my first season of my association. I'm 42-15, best in the NBA.

Since NBA 2k5, I haven't made a single trade in my Association and have always kept the real Celtic roster. I decided to make a couple adjustments this year, and I ended up making one three-team trade in which I made out like a bandit.

Boston Gets: Rashad McCants, Lindsey Hunter
Boston Trades: Eddie House, Tony Allen, and Leon Powe

Detroit Gets: Eddie House, Leon Powe
Detroit Trades: Lindsey Hunter, 2009 2nd Round Pick

Minnesota Gets: Tony Allen, Detroit's 2009 2nd Round Pick
Minnesota Trades: Rashad McCants

Here's my reasoning for making the deal:

  • I am a huge Rashad McCants fan, have been for about 4 years.
  • Eddie House shot the ball terribly for me
  • I like Powe, but Big Baby needs all the minutes there. Powe was unhappy with sporadic minutes, his morale was at 66% and going down.
  • It puts me in a good position for 2008 free agency. I don't have to worry about TA's contract, and Lindsey Hunter's is expiring. So, Hunter gives me a solid veteran PG for the rest of the year and playoffs, then I can sign a nice piece come free agency after this season. Plus McCants has 2 years left on his deal.

It has worked out great. Hunter is 100x better than House defensively, even in the game, and McCants is absolutely lights out.

I love this game. My only complaint about my association so far is the fact that I'm averaging 21/11/4 with KG on the best team in the NBA, yet he's not on the top 5 MVP candidates list. Stupid.

If your playing with the celtics, give James Posey the ball. He is my high scorer in my franchise league. He is deadly from three point land. Paul Pierce on the other hand is the worst player in this game. And whatever they did to the system for making layups is awful because noone on any team can ever make a lay up even on fast breaks.

yea what's the deal with layups in this game? i swear i'm better off launching a three from 10 feet behind the arc than taking the ball to the basket for a layup

I have 2k8 for PS3 and I still have that problem with intentional fouls not being called.

I did some research and according to other bloggers, a new patch was released.

Where do I find it?????

I read somewhere when my ps3 is hooked up to the internet and I turn it on, a message asking me to install the new NBA 2k8 patch should come up automatically, but it doesn't for me.

Can someone pleeeeaaase help me?!?!

I just finished my first regular season in Association. I played all 82 games (no simming) at 10 minutes per quarter on All-Star difficulty. I finished 61-21, the best record in the league. Everybody on my team finished with a morale percentage of 82% or higher. All of my top guys were 96-100%, and Perk was 85%.

My Roster
C: Kendrick Perkins / Scot Pollard (expiring)
PF: Kevin Garnett / Glen Davis / Brian Scalabrine
SF: Paul Pierce / James Posey (player option) / Brandon Wallace (expiring)
SG: Ray Allen / Rashad McCants (team option)
PG: Rajon Rondo / Lindsey Hunter (expiring) / Gabe Pruitt

I won a lot of awards, too:

- KG finished 5th in MVP, but made the All-NBA 1st Team and All-Defense 2nd Team.
- Big Baby (created, 73 overall) made the All-Rookie 2nd Team.
- Doc won Coach of the Year.
- I won Executive of the Year.

I'm playing New Jersey (40-42) in the first round of the playoffs. Can't wait to start the playoffs.

Baby at 73 seems a bit high.

Bah, I need this game, but I keep holding out on getting it because I plan to get a PS3 (Of course I planned to do this 5 months ago). Maybe I'll just pick up the PS2 version, how much is it to get?

Also, the crap thing with Australia is that they changed the PS3 from a 60GB all the bells+whistles to a 40GB with no backwards-compatibility, and a whole bunch of other stuff gone for not much lower of a price. I'm kinda hoping they bring back the original, bah.

What's Perk's rating?

I find player ratings aren't 100% indicitive of how good a player really, is. I have baby who's rated at like a 66 starting over Perk b/c he finishes around the basket better, and KG takes care of blocks and defensive boards. Rondo is rated kinda low but gets a ton of steals and finishes pretty well as well, vs. House who almost never finishes. Scal stinks in the game though, so some things are right

Baby at 73 seems a bit high.

Well first off he was a 72 and I worked with him a bit in the monthly training workouts and got him up to a 73 - now a 74. But how is that too high? Heck, even Pruitt is rated higher than Rondo in the game and started out at 73 I believe. I certainly tinkered those a bit, but that's a different subject.

But Big Baby has a lot of skills. I don't think 73 is too high. He's a contributor.

So put Pruitt lower. Don't raise everyone else. Pruitt is not a 73. 2k put in Davis as a 67 in the roster update. Upping him a few points is fine, but +5 is kind of high.

Those screenshots are incredible. I regret buying NBA Live 08 I was told 2k8 was a let down.
