Consider this the second overreaction thread of the season but the team isn’t exactly hitting on all cylinders.  Hayward looks tentative and the defense is a hot mess.

No long term concerns but I’m pretty much expecting the team to get off to a slow start.

Best defensive player and best player out equals another overeaction thread!  ;D

Of course it ignores the huge run the Celtics went.

Just don’t see enough minutes for all these guys. I think Ainge will be forced to consolidate unfortunately.  :(

I really don't think so. If they play at a fast pace on offense and consistently strong effort on defense, Stevens will need to rotate guys in and out more frequently to keep up their endurance. We could crush teams if they get it together with this group.

I think the defense will suffer too much if CBS just lets all these guys come in and let it fly. If guys like Morris and Smart were more in tune to their role as defensive guys it would be better. Don’t see that happening though. Too many guys trying to get theirs with what little minutes they already have.

Almost no preseason practices whatsoever. Three players easing themselves into NBA form coming back from injury. 3 games in 6 nights. 12+ MPG for scrubs like Wannamaker, Lemon,  Yabusele and Ojeleye. 5+ MPG for scrubs like Dozier, King, Roberson.

Of course this team looks out of it. But its preseason. Nothing here is important or means anything.

I meant fast break offense for easy buckets, not jacking up any type of shot. More importantly I meant consistent high defensive effort. That overall is the key

To channel what Brad said post-game tonight, I can't be more unimpressed with the efforts of key players (save for Kyrie) over the first 3 pre-season games. Sounds like a few of these guys are believing their press clippings a bit too much.  The comment about guys looking to 'get theirs' in limited minutes is spot on so far.

The way to deal with that is tighten up the rotation a bit - or limit minutes to guys who aren't performing until they pick things up.

Personally I think they have too many players. You can't possibly keep them all happy.  But Danny can correct that by moving someone for draft picks.

I am not sharing the OPs impressions at all.
I don't care if the Shirts or the Skins won, this game is a training session.

And we don't do Process here.

Well, it looks like it’s me and Stevens against you.

Real coach is never satisfied.
He wasn't when we were riding a 18-game win streak.
He won't be when we advance to the finals this year.

Yes it's not what our normal season rotation would be, there are guys getting more minutes than they will in the regular season because this is preseason after all, you want to see who is going to add value over the regular season.

Obviously we need a discount for preseason. But man, that offense doesn’t look like the Cs at all. Not quite five guys going one on one, but darn near a lot of the time. I assume Brad has some master strategy here, tho I’m not sure what it is. Maybe it’s hiding their sets.

Yeah, it's preseason, but I still find it kinda sad and depressing that the Cs lost to a LeBron-less Cavs team, even if Kyrie was out. Another poor 3pt-shooting performance.
