Not a rumor, but definitely some social media chatter. Plus, it really makes sense for both teams. Suns need a PG. For the Cs, Rozier is expiring and a player like Bridges seems like a great fit and is cost controlled. I also think the team has confidence in Wanamaker getting significant minutes.

Travis Schlepp- Anyone else get the feeling the Suns are gonna sell the farm to get Terry Rozier?

Woj - Anderson will be the Suns starting power forward, and front office will continue to pursue trade scenarios to bring on a starting-caliber point guard before start of season

Goodman - If I am Ryan Mcdonough, I am gonna see what I have to give up for Rozier

Karalis - A lot of talk about Rozier & possible Suns interest... I'd be shocked if Boston moved Rozier without feeling 100% confident in Kyrie returning.

Keith Smith - As Woj noted, Suns are pursuing starting caliber PGs. League sources indicate Phoenix has been talking with teams that have PG depth and is aggressive in making offers. Want to get a deal done before camp opens in a few weeks. Suns are intent on making a playoff push this year

No context, but roughly 1 hour ago ....

Rozier - Oh yeah??

I'd rather have their unprotected pick. Honestly other than Ayton and Booker and MAYBE Bridges that roster flat out sucks. I live in Phoenix btw and follow the Suns pretty closely..

I'd take an unprotected pick for Rozier straight up honestly.

Smart is long term here (unless he's traded) so we have the backup PG locked in.  Danny might have an inside line with Kyrie about resigning when the time is right, and additionally I'd really like to see what Rozier can do not in the shadow of Kyrie.  He's not Kyrie, but I think he could grow into a borderline allstar at some point and I'd love to see him paired with Booker.

They gave up #16 (Smith) and a 2021 Heat 1st rd pick to get him. We've all seen that future draft picks don't have as much value as we think due to their volatility. Plus, it's hard to imagine the Heat being atrocious. They are a well run organization so at best I think it becomes a late lottery pick. Also remember that they selected Bridges prior to signing Ariza and also have Booker, Jackson, Warren to play the 2/3. Perhaps their thinking has changed since the Ariza signing/Knight trade.

A starting lineup of:
Warren
Ariza
Ayton
Rozier
Booker

Does sound exciting and a pretty good mix of player types.

One way or another, there's basically zero chance both Terry and Kyrie are Celtics at the beginning of 2019-20. But I don't think there's any way Danny wants a scenario where neither of them are (barring getting a different really good PG, etc etc).

I've always thought of Rozier as Kyrie leaving insurance - if Kyrie skips town we sign/match Rozier at a lower rate and plug him in. From that perspective trading Rozier seems like it'd take a lot of confidence that Kyrie will resign here, and that he'll stay healthy this year (we do have Smart as insurance and Wanamaker for emergencies).

Assuming that's the case Bridges would be a heck of a get and could give us another cost-controlled young wing to give us more future options on that front. But that's if they'd give him up when they just traded essentially two 1sts to land him.  Dunno. Depends on return.

before the draft I thought there was a real chance Rozier would be traded to the Suns for their 2nd 1st round pick.  I think the trade still makes sense, but it is harder to swing now given what the Suns did with that 1st rounder and that I don't really think Bridges makes sense at all on the Celtics.  Maybes something like Morris and Rozier for Bender, Daniels, and a protected 1st.  I still like the potential of Bender (and Boston does need some more bigs) and I think Daniels is the perfect SG next to Smart on the bench.  You add a future 1st as well and it shaves about 500k from Boston giving it a bit more wiggle room under the tax.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Bender was the player I would have taken #3 (yes Brown was the better pick) so I wouldn't mind trading for him.   I do think he improved and I'd still getting better.  I still think he can end up being really good but maybe not if he stays in a jacked up franchise like Phoenix.

I'd consider Bender and a protected 1st for Yab and Rozier

Someone like Brandon Knight would make lots of sense in that PHX roster  :(

I think it would be hilarious if Danny could somehow manage to get Josh Jackson in the deal. Although, I do agree that Bridges would be a great addition.

Phoenix should go after Eric Bledsoe, just because it's funny.

Honestly if they keep striking out on their top choices they might take a shot at Brogdon, but I'm not sure the Bucks want to give him up.

Phoenix finished with 21 wins last season. The Spurs and TWolves made the playoffs with 47 wins.  The Suns are delusional if they think the moves they made this offseason are going to make up 26 wins.  They need to take a chill pill and be a bottom 5 team for one more season.  Next offseason there will be plenty of PGs for them to go after including Rozier.
