I don't doubt it - it's getting more and more clear that Butler isn't happy in Minnesota and wants out, and I wouldn't be surprised if this came directly from Butler's agent in an attempt to get him traded somewhere else sooner rather than later (I still think there comes a point this season where Smart/Morris/Griz pick easily tops the Butler trade market, but don't think I'd actually pull the trigger on that because it's probably untenable to re-sign him). If Minnesota really holds onto him all season he's probably the Lakers' fall-back option if Kawhi winds up really liking Toronto.
