I feel bad for IT4. Just a little over a year ago he was leading his team to the ECF and was talking about backing up the "brinks truck" crazy how in such little time his value has fallen where he is signing a vet-minimum deal.

I really hope he regains his form and can be the player he was in boston and get his big contract for someone.

Guess you can see why players take the long deals for big $$ when they can.

And, it's a cliche, but why is he still available? He's unrestricted, and if he had anything near what his proponents in this thread claim, he'd already have a deal.

Because the Celtics' former medical staff misdiagnosed a hip injury and IT derailed his own career trying to gut through it while getting the team to the Conference Finals for the first time since kicking off their rebuild.

More generally, some of the things that get said about IT around the general Celtics internet because certain people got their underwear in a bunch over a guy who was garnering MVP votes wanting to be paid like an all-star in the midst of the spendiest period in league history are absurd.  Thomas pulled the franchise out of the shadow of the KG/Pierce years and then got dumped after shooting himself physically putting the team first. For some reason people treat him like some Celtics villain.

He sux

I am beginning to think that CBS makes everyone who is not a traditional big, better.   Most everyone's numbers drop one they leave here.  IT, Evan T, Crowder and the list goes on.   I think the same could be true of Smart.

You could argue he made Kelly Olynyk's career, improved Horford's game, helped Sullinger to impact winning, used Johnson and Bass as starters passed the time when they were capable, and has developed Theis into an NBA player.

Most of the fan base is fine, but Boston has some real Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. fans too.

Or I wouldn't be surprised if he alienates the young Nuggets roster and gets waived

I thought he learnt his lesson to  :-X

But after signing a vet min, he is the same ol

Would it surprise anybody.... he has several good games coming off the bench.  Starts whining to the coach that he should start.  Starts trash talking to Jamal Murray, Garry Harris. Starts pouting from the bench

He not only looks like a baby, he is a adult baby...... that will lose a ton of money if he doesn't become realistic very soon

Well, Smart's numbers are not something he's excelling at, so...

I cannot think of a single player who has done better since leaving CBS and his system. Even in 2014, remember what Jordan freakin Crawford did under CBS? EC player of the week one week. Ainge eventually managed to abstract a draft pick from CBS increasing his value.

At this rate playing under CBS will become a death trap for some of these players

or real life Cinderella with a definite expiry time

Other teams mentality: result only because its under CBS. We see past it
