1) Vlade Divac is out of control and will probably offer 4 years/$65 Million.
2) Celtics won't match.
3) This opens the door for IT to make his Boston comeback.

Thoughts?

I feel like he could be really bad for the locker room
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Thoughts are there isn't a role on the Celtics for a ball dominant guard who can't guard empty space.

I agree.  I'd love to have the scorer off the bench, but his personality is too dominant for this team.

Doubtful.   More likely Danny uses that roster spot to just go ahead and give Jabari Bird a full NBA contract.  He'll then be able to offer a 2-way to someone like Martin or Nunnally.

NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.

No, I don't think he'd fit with the current team. He wants minutes, money and shots to rebuild his value. He'd be a backup here and one that'd likely not play a ton unless he's wildly improved over his form last year.

I'm not sure on what planet IT would accept coming off the bench as a sixth man in Boston two years removed from being the King In The Fourth and averaging 28ppg, and to be on the bench while the person who "took his job" starts. Or even if he says he can accept it, actions will speak louder than words.

I'm sure it would work in NBA2k but in real life that would be a locker room disaster waiting to happen.

I love IT, but it is not the right situation for either sides. Bit still...

I doubt Smart is out unless he gets a crazy offer.

I'm thinking Marcus resigns for something around the 3/33 range.

Kings are also in rebuild mode.  I doubt they want to sign a long term contract for an average starting guard (great defense, awful offense) at this stage of their development.

They can save the cap space free for next year when a lot of big free agents become available.

There is nothing of value that IT can give this team.

I'll be sad to see him go, but part of me hopes he gets a payday for his sake and his ill mother.

I don't Ainge brings IT back, due to lack of defense.   IT may love the city but he was traded by Ainge.  If the Kings were smart IT would be the guy they were looking at.

I think the Celtics are already covered at 6th man with Terry Rozier... If Smart walks I assume the Celtics will just retain Jabari Bird.
