He seemed very unhappy coming off the bench in OKC — “just not who he is as a player” kind of thing.  The Lakers could find him a starting role, but no way would he start on Golden State or Boston.

Melo will go to the team that will start him.  He already said he is not coming off the bench.  He will most definitely sign with the Rockets.  They lost Ariza and could use a 3rd scorer.  Houston is a perfect spot for him.  He will help them keep pace with the rest of the West outside of GSW.

Either Houston or LA.

With Ariza leaving he fits right in alongside Harden and CP3. If he wants a better shot at winning he moves there... If he's looking for the lifestyle choice he goes to LA alongside lebron (and most likely Wade.)
