Championship-Everybody in their way got injured
73 wins, lost in Finals-blow up a 3-1 lead
Championship-KI and Lebron is falling apart
Championship-The Cavs should never be in Final at first place, we will have beat them without our 2 allstars

That’s why. Oh, and they just replaced JaVale McGee with Boogie Cousins.
Cousins is a locker room cancer and a losing player, i see them get worse by this move, they just inplant a big bomb in their team, meanwhile we added 2 allstar and  a possible steal in Robert

Don't let your fear blind you from the truth, they aren't that good, they just had incredibly luck, which won't last long

I think afraid is a strong word, they are good at beating certain teams but not others, their defence is getting worse since 2017 champion, Iguodala is getting old and injured all the time. Now they had to join the arm race to counter threat from Rockets and Lakers, which of these three teams come out of west will mainly depend on health. the good thing is we only need to beat one of them.

From what I've gathered on other boards, it's not fear as much as it is disappointment that the league continues to be player driven and the "superteam" strategy is being taken to new levels. Regardless of whether or not people around here think Cousins is a bad player/person (I sense he isn't very liked on this board), he's an All-NBA caliber player and a top-20 talent when healthy. If he returns to even 80% of what he once was then he'll still be an All-Star and, as others have mentioned, improve an already terrific GSW team. They now have four players who are in the top-3 of their respective positions and that's kind of absurd.

I can't fault them though, because a lot of their building has been organic (i.e., three out of their five starters were drafted). The issue is that it waters down the league and makes it less competitive as a whole. I'm not a fan of the move.

Stern got out at a good time.  Silver has let league become a joke!

One perennial championship team, 5 or 6 teams playing for the chance to be second best, and 23 or 24 teams completely irrelevant!

It was bad enough that he let KD join GS, but now this is absurd!  Should have disallowed both deals for "the good of the league"!  Oh, well, hopefully our two stars, KI and GH, can at least get to the finals and win a game or two against their five!

I think we would have to spread the floor and use our athleticism now that they have Boogie.   I think that would be our best chance.   As far as defense goes, I think we have a slight edge but they have a big edge on offense.   If their shots are falling they will be hard to beat as I see it.

That’s a fair statement based on the way things look now. But we haven’t seen Boston with all of its starters on the floor and another year of growth for J and J. We could have all five starters shooting north of 40% from 3, in addition to much more shot creation than we saw in the playoffs last year. And if Boogie's mobility is limited, we may be able to play him off the floor - the way Golden State has victimized other teams in the past.

I felt that GSW’s one weakness was lack of size.

Now it’s not.

Totally sucks.

It is impressive that "we will have beat them without our 2 allstars" is only the 2nd most ridiculous statement here
I'm bitter.

I think that's the key to this situation. If Cousins comes back full strength, he can guard a player of Horford's caliber and skillset and can definitely handle our back up bigs with ease (e.g., Baynes). If anything, I actually think they've improved defensively because Cousins has good hands and can create steals (1.5 SPG over the past four years) and can protect the rim better than Zaza and McGee. Add in his absurd rebounding numbers and he'll be creating a lot of fastbreak opportunities as well.

Cousins' skillset fits in perfectly with GSW: he can handle, pass, and shoot, and can get on the box and score at will. I can see his turnovers going down when he doesn't feel like he has to force playmaking with other fantastic players around him. I think people overlook his skillset in favor of harping on his mentality and supposed chemistry issues.

My question is why do the Lakers have the same title odds as us? Their team is absolute garbage. Must be speculating Kawhi trade.

It's GSW or Celtics winning the title this year. Don't forget that our team could theoretically have 5 all stars as well and apparently the Achilles tear is the worst basketball injury there is.

With the Celtics the seemingly favorites to win the East, does Danny do anything to counter Golden State's signing of Cousins?
1. Go after Dwight Howard?
2. Improve the scoring off the bench with Tyreke Evans?
3. Or play the ultimate trump card and trade for Kawhi? I feel like the longer this drags out, the lower Kawhi's trade value is becoming.

I know the Celtics will basically be adding an all star that they didn't have last season in Hayward. However, the Warriors just won the title and they still felt the need/desire to try to improve, so why shouldn't the Celtics.
