Because Sixers fan think so
"
'Can the Sixers as currently constructed (addition of Zhaire Smith with a JJ Redick return) beat Boston with a healthy Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward in a seven-game series?'

This is tricky to answer because “as currently constructed” also includes Markelle Fultz. He’s the key to this answer. From all accounts via Drew Hanlan, Fultz is at least on the way back to regaining the skill and swagger that made him the #1 overall pick in 2017.

If Fultz returns to that, he’s the starting two-guard to start the season. His game adds much needed shot creation and shot making in the half court -- which is what the Sixers lacked in that playoff run (not just against the Celtics). Defensively, they’re better. Let’s just pretend Redick doesn’t return. Smith gets those minutes off the bench to spell Fultz (or Covington). Smith is a much better defensive upgrade.

All of that said, it would be a series that would go seven games. This is not a “Tyson/McNeeley” fight. This thing’s going the distance, and it’ll come down to who has home court for game seven. If it’s the Sixers, I’ll say Philly in seven. If not, it’ll be Boston in seven."

Holdup.

We beat them in 5, run it back and add Kyrie and Hayward and now it's all of a sudden close???

No shot. Celtics in 5 unless they add a max guy or Simmons learns to shoot.

Well they think Zhaire Smith and Fultz are better than Kyrie and Hayward.

That's some hilarious delusion. Hayward and Kyrie are both comfortably better players than Simmons
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

We beat them in 5 without Hayward, Kyrie, Theis, and part of Brown, including one win on Wells Fargo Arena.

Get Kyrie, Hayward, Theis, and Brown completely back, keep this same Fultz as he is and this same Embiid and Simmons as they are and this series will be a sweep, and the Celtics would be doing the sweeping.

I read this, just nonsense. There was at least one fan in the comments that called him out on it.

Summer sun getting to his head..

A more reasonable question is if they did sign LeBron, would Fultz be enough to replace the production of Reddick. And could that team challenge us?

Fultz getting his shot back means nothing , he had them, he lost them, as long as you don't solve that mental problem he will never be able to shoot

So what's normal?! A bunch of upside? It's not like he played great for a year and then got hurt or struggled. He was always a question mark. Now everyone just knows the answer to the question.

We will be even better next year as of yet they have done nothing and have some talented guys who have serious flaws than you can scheme and beat soundly.

All they are demonstrating is how silly they are, I think we can beat them even if they get LBJ

Once a player has the yips they are prone to it the rest of their lives.  Dud, I mean Fultz is not going to help them.

All he is recovering is the hype.   He was not a good enough college player to get his team to the NCAAs ditto for Simmons.   That indicates to me, that both of them lack some intangibles.  Both are talented but don't have grit.   That is not something that you can develop overnight either.   Fultz swagger is the glitter on basketball, shiny but not worth much on the court.  Of course, the guys here who had him as their draft binkie will love it.   But as I have said, there was a reason they hid the guy for half a season, it was happening in college, too.

HAHAHAHA!!!

Fultz getting back to normal can only hope to be someday as good as Kyrie in his worst year. And then you add Hayward? I still see us winning in 5 (we might lose game 3 because our focus slips), all in comfortable fashion.

If Lebron leaves the East, we are steamrolling our way to the NBA finals. I really can’t see toronto stepping up

OK this is just silly.  How about:

Is getting Fultz and LBJ better additions than Kyrie/Hayward?
