This current situation is actually even worse in that LeBron didn't allegedly text Durant about joining the team is he currently under contract with but about another team.  This is unethical in two regards.  How would you feel if you were the Cleveland owner and found out that while you were paying LeBron a ridiculous salary that he was recruiting players to join another team.

If LeBron was under contract with Cleveland and Durant was a FA, then him recruiting Durant to come to Cleveland seems fine.  If this is true as reported, LeBron is way out of line.

You realize teams are free to call other teams and discuss trading players at any time? How do you think players feel when they hear their names in trade talks, and have no input on their own future?

Executives are suppose to build teams not players. Am I supposed to feel bad for them when they are making a measly $20m a year too?

Supposed to by who? The CBA is the law of the land and every team that's been assembled has done so according to those rules.  Some major factors that have helped create superteams, like shortened contracts, are there specifically because the owners wanted them.

Honestly it's more impressive to me for a player to control their own destiny and help put a great team together than to just luck into a good front office or Ping-Pong balls falling their way.
