NBA Awards is a huge joke.

Robert Covington is a 1st All-Defensive Team
Damian Lilliard is a 1st-All NBA Team
Ben Simmons is the Rookie of The Year
Spencer Dinwiddie is a MIP Finalist
Not even a single vote for Brad for COTY
Rudy Gobert for DPOY

The most funny thing is most of the players who made the post season and the award got exposed badly.

- Rudy Gobert got exposed with his inability to cover the perimeter
- Covington's defense got exposed by the explosive guards in Jaylen and Rozier
- Lilliard choked big time against Rondo
- Casey and the Raptors choked badly against Lebron.
- Ben Simmons also got exposed in the playoffs.

If you're gonna wait till off season to hand these useless awards, then better including playoffs with your stupid evaluation. This is why media voting is a joke.

Harden was significantly better than Lebron in the defensive end of the court this year. Think about that. Cleveland significantly underachieved in the regular season and finished behind us despite missing Hayward all season and Irving for 30 games. The rockets overachieved and won 13 more games than the cavs. Then if you want to throw in intangibles Lebron was part of some of the worst chemistry I have seen on an above .500 team in my life and regularly pouted. So, no, and in my
Opinion it was not close.

Also to answer your winning games we won 3 more than the 76ers and they were the next team to us in the standings. The rockets and cavs were 13 games apart and the difference between best record in the entire league and the 6th place team

And if you say the “games won” matter, then Tatum wins rookie of the year by that logic. It goes both ways

TBF Harden led his team to the best record while Lebron only managed to get 4th in the East. (remember chris paul missed a lot of games, as does Capela). Also had better averages. He played 10 less games that's why the totals are skewed towards Lebron.

Also I dont believe triple doubles should ever be a basis for handing out the MVP award.

Yea the graphic was obviously made by a Lebron fan so is kind of a bad starting point to the discussion.

James had to adjust to a clear out trade in the middle of the season.

"Games won" doesn't apply nearly as much to a rookie because the rookie isn't typically the MVP of that team.  Tatum was not the Celtics' regular season MVP this year.

You seem to imply that Games Won shouldn't be an argument.  As others have correctly pointed out, Harden led his team to a SIGNIFICANTLY better winning percentage, and in the Western conference too.  He did it through a highly efficient offense, better defense than Lebron, and way less distraction.

Why do you think there was a trade to start the season?  B/c Kyrie was sick of playing behind Lebron.  And why do you think there was a trade in the middle of the season that Lebron had to adjust to?   Because Lebron couldn't mesh with the other players.

He makes his own circus, and I partially think he does it so that people think "poor Lebron, look at the chaos he has to play through, and the lousy teammates he has to carry."  That kind of narrative makes eventually losing in the finals acceptable.  There is no way that Lebron was the regular season MVP.  But he would have been the playoff MVP IMO

No. Lebron’s leadership was terrible this year. He pouted, took plays off, didn’t try to embrace his teammates, etc.

He’s the best player, but it’s a regular season award, and Cleveland’s regular season was a mess. In part, that was due to Lebron.

Who cares anymore, I don't, especially after last years trendy collective TD high. That was passé this year even though he averaged TD again.

My advice, don't take these awards seriously.

Lebron's been frozen out of the MVP discussion by a bitter "get-off-my-lawn" media that is NEVER going to let him match Michael Jordan in MVP's (he's been 1 short of MJ for the last 5 seasons).  As a result, any time there's even a statistical arguement to be made that someone is as valuable as Lebron they autimatically give the MVP to that player, even when it will clearly be laughable within a season (Russell Westbrook/Derrick Rose).

Realistically he should probably have 7 or 8 MVP's by now.

We all know they do not always give the awards to the guy who deserves them.   When I think of all the adversity CBS overcame this year and how far we got, there is no way that he should not have got coach of the year.

Robbed? No, not at all. James certainly could have won, but I would have voted for Harden as he had the best overall season.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick
