What a joke. Toronto has pretty good health all year long, minimally exceeded expectations, and only beat us by 4 games, yet Casey is COTY after all we did to overachieve and overcome this year? Good grief. The people who voted for Casey should feel ashamed. Brown deserved a nod more than Casey.

Stevens will always get robbed for this type of award... the greats are held to a different standard. It’s why LBJ doesn’t win MVP every year, even though anyone would take him over Harden if you could choose one.

I honestly think they should also create some recognition for the playoffs. After all its the more important season within the season. Breakthrough performances also happen much more in the playoffs anyways.

If anything it should the Raptors that should be embarassed for firing Casey...How on earth does Brad not get it when the freakin Raptors were healthy all yr round whereas Brad had to endure a season where he did not have his second best player and lost his best player with still 1/3 of the games left to play.

I think Casey was the weakest of the 3 finalists.

With the injuries to the Celtics and the Jazz losing their star player in free agency and still both having successful seasons, while the Raptors basically just had the type of season they were expected to have....  Get real.

So Stevens gets his team with in one game of getting to the finals  with out their two best players, and the fired coach whos team chokes year after year gets it....Sounds about right.

I'd say there are a solid 5 coaches I would have voted for ahead of Casey this past season: Steven, Snyder, McMillan, Brown, D'Antoni. I would probably put Casey 6th. I was afraid this would happen after he won the previous coaches award, but didn't think the voters would be so lazy. When the Cs crush the East next year, Stevens had better win.
