Good for him. Hopefully he can carve out a role in a low-pressure situation like that
I'm bitter.

Don't matter as long as James Harden, CP3, Clint Capela, and Eric Gordon are healthy they will ball up the Warriors.

@ShamsCharania

Free agent guard Jarrett Jack has agreed to a one-year deal with the New Orleans Pelicans, per league sources.
3:26 PM - 17 Sep 2018

Jack will sign a non-guaranteed deal, allowing him to compete for a reserve point guard spot for Pelicans.

Jarrett Jack, hanging on despite being awful for like 5 years.  Respect.  Go get that 16th year!

Only a partial guarantee for Jahlil Okafor.

New Orleans is one of a few teams that still have open roster spots available. The Pelicans have 12 guaranteed contracts with veteran Emeka Okafor on a non-guaranteed salary and wing DeAndre Liggins on a partial. Good opportunity for Jahlil Okafor to make the roster.

I think we're all missing the real news here: Emeka Okafor is still playing?!?  ;D

Always liked Emeka. Seems like a good guy. Did his job on the court. The neck injury derailed him from having a better career, but he was pretty good in his day and kept working to get back to the NBA.

Heck, he returned after missing four full seasons, got cut in training camp, went to the G-League... literally clawed his way back into the NBA and still put up pretty impressive numbers in very limited minutes (small sample size, but he posted career high rebounds per36 and nearly career highs in blocks and steals per36).
His work ethic and pure effort levels could not be further from Jahlil’s, lol.

The Pelicans have waived veteran Emeka Okafor. The veteran had $0 protection that would have increased to $100K guaranteed if he was on the roster past Sept. 21. The $100K in protection originally had a July trigger date but was amended this summer.
