You have a chance at acquiring a Kawhi Leonard via trade OR Lebron James, and it's met with a ton of mixed opinions/emotions/doubt, and with many people (myself included) perfectly fine standing pat and keeping all our guys (youth and the major core).

Superstar available? So what, we're pretty good still!

KUDOS to Ainge, the FO and CBS for assembling this team and putting them in the best position to compete for a championship going forward  ;D  8)

This roster really has changed a lot (for the better) in the last 4-5 years (dating back to the first few years of Brad's tenure here). Very impressive. Even I never thought we could be in this position that we are in and we still aren't 100% done (Kings Pick, Grizzlies Pick, etc.)

Word. From the draft night deal sending out PP and KG to where they are now is ridiculous. And they did it the right way.

I will not doubt Ainge and his staff.

Yep. Feels like that trade happened so long ago too. Wow.

When it first happened I felt bummed that we wouldn't see PP and KG every other night. But from a business point, I thought it was an amazing haul for two guys on the back end.

Whats funny is I thought it would be this draft where we get our stud, yet DA and Stevens may have hit it on the last two drafts.

Yeah the most hilarious thing is that in the case of giving up Brown for Kawhi we're literally talking about a guy who at most is our 4th option next season (behind Kyrie, Tatum and Hayward)... but it's like "woah woah woah... hold on... giving up my 4th option for an MVP-level talent?  I'll need to think this over"

It's always a conundrum giving up young talent for impending free agents. Just even more so when there's little incentive for us to take the risk.

Could you please make up your mind?  Kawhi is an mvp level player who will be top2 player for the celtics or an injury consern who played last season less than embiib?

There is no doubt the Celtics are in a good place. There is a difference though between being a challenger and a champion. Celtics could sit and know they will own the East next season. To win a championship though, against the current and possible lineups in the West, may (will) take another (superstar) addition.

Leonard or James may not be playing in green next season but if Danny could get one of them it means they aren't playing against you. Can the Celtics beat GSW with Kyrie and Hayward added to this season's roster? I think it is a close call. Add Lebron or Kawhai and I believe we win. Even if you lose a good player in getting them. If you are about championships and not just being competitive you make sure you have the best team. It is going to take a mighty team to beat Steph and Durant.
