What caught my eye was that they thought that Terry plus the Sac pick would only bring #17 or #18 in this draft. I think that's pessimistic, although I do agree that the package wouldn't bring the top-5 pick that so many want, either.

Also suggested: Trading Terry and #27 for a pick next year. That does help with the cap, but next year doesn't look so hot, either. How much higher could we go and would we really want a second pick?

The other usual suggestions are in the link, as well.

No, they thought Rozier plus 27 would get us 17 or 18, not Rozier plus the Sac pick. I disagree with that that, Rozier alone probably gets us 16-18. Plus the 27 moves us a little higher.

Yeah.  that seems about right.  I've been saying for awhile that Phoenix at 16 makes a lot of sense (especially if they take Ayton).  I don't think we would need to include 27 in that scenario, but I might do it depending on who was available at 16 if that is what it took.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

It looks like they're proposed Rozier + #27 to get up to #17 or #18 *or* a 2019 1st rounder. Don't see any mention of dealing the SAC pick.

The Celtics would be idiots to trade Rozier straight up for #17 or #18, much less including #27 to get up there is well.

Danny Ainge is no idiot.  I have never met Josh Karalis, so I don’t mean to insult him, but that is an idiotic proposal.

so you think a 1 year rental of 0-11 Rozier is worth a middle lottery pick?

Considering he’s a restricted free agent and any team trading for him could control him for at least 5 years, absolutely.  (Well, at least a late lottery pick.  No later than 12 for me.)

Rozier was a mid-lottery pick, and he’s panned our better than average for that spot. You also don’t have to wait two-three years for him to develop - he has experience deep in the playoffs, which Phoenix definitely could use - and he’s not just a rental. He is an RFA after next year, meaning Phoenix could keep him. .

Mid-1st not mid-lottery, but otherwise I obviously concur.

It's John.  Red Army's co-founder.   He does the Locked In podcast with Jay King too.

I think  thats a little low.  I think 13-15 pick for Rozier and 27th pick is more accurate (clippers have an extra 1st)

the folks that were hoping for the 6th or 7th pick for Rozier and 27th were .....

IF the Celts beat the Cavs and Rozier helped the Celts take GSW 7  (MAYBE, big Maybe)

Yep. I’m only trading Rozier if he is part of a package to get a top level talent. I’m thinking maybe top 7 or 8 picks.  Maybe a Rozier, Morris, 27th pick gets us close.  We might have to give up that Kings pick, but then IMO that’s too much as that could be a top 5 pick itself.

In the end I’m not sure if any of the top 8 teams in the draft want a Rozier centered package in which case I’m just fine with keeping him.

Of the teams with 11 through 18 picks, the Suns are the only one that I could see having much of an interest in Rozier and there are rumors that Suns are looking to trade up.
